Transfer case

Can someone explain how to remove the filler plug on the transfer case?

I see the drain plug, nice and easy to access.
I can see the fill plug on the side but it's burried inside.
Do i need to remove the exhaust or what? I can't get with the 14mm the way it is now. Just awkward engineering by the Zermans.

Thank you.

There are several DIYs on here, just search a bit.

If I remember right, most people have been cutting a hex key down so that it's easier to fit in there, and then turning it with an open ended wrench.

Well it is possible as people have done it already. It just may take longer as your motion is a little restricted.

Cutting down an allen hex key worked like a charm for me. Way faster than removing stuff around the drain plug. At first glance it doesn't really appear that it would work but if you actually do it there is no problem.
