Eibach Prokit on a non-Msport E90 335i?

Hi all

am thinking of fitting the Eibach Pro Kit to my 2009 LCI E90 335i. Not planning to change the shocks.

My car is the non-M-Sport so rides a little higher than stock.

Has anyone in Australia fitted this kit to their non-M-sport sedan?

How much drop did you get? What did it do to the ride?

I've read that there is a difference in the drop you get in Australian market kit compared to Euro (or US)?

According to the Eibach dist in Oz, you get about 15mm drop at the front and similar at the rear. Doesn't seem like much.

cheers

Changing only the springs is one of the worst things you can do to the car

Shocks won't be matched to the springs. Will be more bouncy and wear out the shocks, until its super bouncy. Will scrape on everything due to the bounciness and lowered ride height.

Get the Bilstein B12 Prokit kit which is matched Bilstein B8 shocks matched with Eibach prokit springs.

Why not going for B14 with an extra $300?

However I read that there is a clunking noise after installing Bilstein products including B12, B14 and even B16. I thought Bilstein product is a well known with high quality..

I think when I bought it there was a eBay 10% off sale which brought it down to 900ish. It's probably the same store cause mine was from germany

I have Eibach Prokit springs in my car fitted with Koni Yellow sport struts and shockies. Prior to the Konis, I had Bilstein B8 struts and shockies but I found these too firm for my liking. The good thing about the Konis is that they are adjustable and you can change the firmness to suit your needs.

This is a photo with the standard non msports springs

The front drops about 15mm while the back about 10mm

Fleabay
German seller 'hotcarparts' has the b12 for 970AUD + 80AUD (ish) shipping - just under the 1k duty threshold
UK seller x2 has the b14 kit for around 1270AUD + 140-170AUD shipping - over the duty threshold, duty may be payable if the seller is not able to put a lower price on the invoice

Sorry to dig up this old thread....but:

1. If I had to choose between going for 19in wheels or installing Eibach B12 kit on my non Msport E90 335i, which would give more of a visual impact? No... i can't afford to do both

2. My car is lower on the right (driver) side by about 15mm compared to the other side. Does the Eibach kit 'cure' this, which is apparently reasonably common on BMWs...

3. Any difference between a B12 kit ordered from overseas, and one bought in Australia (eg because of right-hand drive weight difference, etc?)

cheers

BM3RR....couldn't open the image (due to my work's internet), but is that the white E90 in your profile pic? Looks good!

Why did you go with the Konis instead of the Bilsteins (which I thought were part of the Eibach kit?)

cheers

That's my Pre-Lci in the profile pic, but it had the same setup as my LCI. same wheels and suspension.
But I just updated my profile pic to my LCI, also have a look in my profile. I have a few pics in there as well

You are right, you can get the pro kit with Bilsteins but I chose the Koni's and bought the springs separate.

IMO the Bilsteins being the monotube are bit more performance oriented and have the potential for more aggressive damping than a regular twin tube design (Koni), which in turn, has the potential to be more comfortable.

BM3rr: do you remember how much of a drop you got at front and rear wheels? And do you have a difference between left side and right side?

cheers

I never actually measured the before and after.
I will have a measure of the left/right side though and let you know if there is a difference

Thansk BM3rr.

My car's (non Msport), right side is about 15mm lower at the rear suspension, and about 5mm at the front. Apparently a reasonably common problem ("design feature") with BMWs

Wtf isn't the Bilstein B8s more comfortable than the Koni Yellows? I heard it had superior valving to the Koni Yellows even though its a monotube? Im running Koni Yellows on eibach pro kit and at high speeds when going over sharp bumps, you can REALLY feel it at half way between soft and firm dampening on fronts and 1/3 of a turn from full soft on the rears (25% from full soft).

the cheapest price I could find on Ebay was from Tunerworld at around A$1100 incl freight. However their response to my email queries was almost non-existent. The one time they responded, they sent a link to their B12 package for the E90, but it says it does a 20mm front drop and O (zero!) mm rear drop...

I couldn't find hotcarparts on ebay.
