Halloween at UCSB is so cool, I now feel I don't need to go to Mardi Gras. My first year there (84) Halloween was on a Friday. They block off Del Playa street (along the cliff) in IV and people walk in costume up and down the street. There was a band about every 4-5 houses, and parties everywhere. Be careful, typically a few people fall off the cliff on Halloween.
One year the school sent out "There's no Halloween Party at UCSB this year" and we had the largest turnout ever |

On the car issue, espcecially with the dorm stuff, you are going to get a ticket probably. They are STRICT on the parking rules, especially on weekends. If your buddy has a parking permit for dorm, I'd recommend you park your car somewhere else and have him pick you up.

hmm when i used to live there it was super crazy. It's calmed down ALOT now. They used to block the entrance into IV and the only way to enter is for you to show proof you live there. Nowadays...i hear it's all right, not as crazy but still fun.

I lived in Goleta/IV for 5 years...several years on Del Playa...Halloween was defintiely fun. The parking thing may be difficult...sorry..I dont have any suggestions on how to avoid that mess.

I'm from SB, Halloween (along with Fiesta and past 4 of July, Ledbetter Beach!!!) is most fun you'll have there. IMO, i wouldn't take my bimmer near that place, but if i recollect, the cops will check your CDL to see if you actually live in IV, otherwise, they won't let you in. Yes, they can do that, it's not too difficult to keep cars out of that area. Have fun, wear a condom!!!!

Not sure now...
...but it was absolutely out of control when I went there in '93,'94,'95 for Halloween.
...every other house was a fun party with unlimited booze and everything else, chicks were always plentiful and down, bands playin', burning mattresses in the streets, Sabado, Trigo, and D.P. packed w/ people...some of the best times ever. then it got ruined when a small gang presence started to cause some trouble followed by the extra cops and CHP rollin' through... I haven't been in a while, so things may be a little different now. I'm sure it will still be a fun time, but just like many other things in life, after a while when enough people find out about a good thing it gets ruined by a small group of people for everybody else. Have fun bud and be sure to let us know how it was up there...

There is a celebrity party in Encino. It's right behind the Land Rover dealership. Its a 7000 sq foot house with 4 1500 sq foot guest houses. the back yard is conservatively the size of the half an NFL football field. There will be free cristal and grey goose all night, and dozens of the painted naked women, and plenty of exotic cars to check out. If you want to go, please PM me. It's free admission, but an exclusive guest list.

I think the BofA burnt in the late 80s?? Halloween at UCSB was the best. Total drunkfest when I was there 94, 95! UCSB was ranked the number 3 party school those years. |
