Not performing recall due to supercharger

I got the recall about the PCV heater having parts ready. Took my car down to have it and the blower motor replaced and they said they couldn't do the heater due to the supercharger being installed. Is this normal? I feel like the two bolts for the supercharger shouldn't give problems to a technician.

I'm sure it's a liability issue. Ask for the parts and do it yourself, or go to a more Mod friendly dealer.

Didn't know you could do that. I'll have to call them.

yeah I don't think they can deny you a recall because of modifications that are unrelated to the issue, especially since it's a safety recall due to fires.

The heater valve procedure calls for removing the alternator, not the manifold to change the part out. Considering the supercharger is (a) probably in the way of removing the atlernator, and (b) driven off the serpentine belt (now a non-standard E9X part), the Dealer is not going to perform the recall for the heater valve because it has to remove non-standard parts, which it nor BMW will take liability for.
