CCC to CIC Retrofit with Full Combox BMW Apps Development Thread

Much like my key experimentation thread this will serve the purpose of having a place to dump information.

The CiC retrofit has been done before and is decently documented. Hopefully by tomorrow night I will have all of the parts for my CIC retrofit installed.

Objectives:
1. Retrofit CIC
2. Install 2018 BMW maps
3. Retrofit Combox
4. Retrofit USB in the Glovebox
5. Activate BMW Apps, Connected Drive, ect
6. Write a DIY on everything.

Current chalanges:
1. What is the best way to Adapt the antenna cables to the Combox?
2. Does my Combox from the birthplace of aids donor car even work?
3. Does my CiC even have the proper FSC codes?
4. How would I code the Combox?

I found this thread about the BMW apps activation:

Hi, I saw your non-iDrive to CCC post in Booster's thread while doing mine. I recently did the non-iDrive to CIC retrofit. Sorry, don't have Combox so have no input there.

Just wanted to say for the glovebox USB you can just pick up one of the cheaper ones off eBay (eg, https://www.ebay.com/itm/Input-Cable...sid=m570.l1313 ). (I learned this off either Bimmerfest or M3post.) First try it as-is. If it doesn't work (like mine didn't), just clip off the locking tab and rotate it 180 degrees and then insert. Mine works now and even pulled the 1b file. Good luck and have fun.

I have one of those cheap usb cables when I tried installed a USB port with my eBay Bluetooth box. Everything is hooked up except the GSM antenna, aux and the Kcan lines. The kcan is only used for bmw assist and you have to tap into the pdc loom to get it. Does anyone know which gsm cable goes to what slot? I think I should just guess and check the antenna cables.

I got my aids combox installed and it works. I connected my phone to Bluetooth. I still have my CCC so nothing else worked past that. The Combox show up on NCSexpert and everything! I am still shocked that it work; it was sitting in a puddle of water this morning. Apparently for BMW apps to work you need a CIC and Combox with a post 03/11 build date. Good thing both of the units I ordered are past that.

everything is working except there is a scratch on the screen and the connector off the face place broke off.

Update:

Here is the list of everything wrong:
No USB ports in the glove box or center console
Screen is scratched
HU front plate does not work
BMW Connect is not activated

Update 2:

I buffed the screen and it looks flawless.

I got my Chinese USB cable in record time. I now have 6FL installed in my car:

BMW Apps will not work with my Android phone but will start too work on a family members iPhone. After a minute it will crash the CIC. Does anyone know anyone that has a fully working BMW apps retrofit? I am lost for what I am supposed to do.
