I just spoke to Rob at UUC again (to get an authorized installer for my swaybar) and he said they've been keeping an eye on this thread. So, as soon as we reach 20 they'll start their work. 6 MORE PEOPLE!

So...I've now sent enough PMs to invade Canada....we'll see how this goes. Hopefully by the end of the day we'll have well over 20 interested members, and UUC will be forced to produce sways. BWAHAHA!

The authorized installer in my area said their first opening is May 28th....which I won't be in town for....and which is FAR past all the autocrosses I'm doing in the next month. I'll have to try my local non authorized installer first... Luckily the rear is the hard one and the front I should be able to do myself.

I wonder how much BMW would charge to do the rear? I don't think I have any authorized installers in my area let alone someone that I think might be able to do it.

I can't committe for sure as of now though I am interested, especially if this is coming from Rob and UUC. I am moving in the next month and a half and can't be messing any more with the car or the wifey will kill me till we get settled in Seattle.

I have been working with Rob at UUC on trying to "finagle" their short shifter (Evo3) into the 335xi e90 without successes. Rob has been super helpful making suggestions, sending extra parts and being very supportive so if he and UUC are behind this, I have high hopes.

Unfortunately the shifter, even with some modifications won't fit our car due to the transfer case right beneath the shifter making it "impossible" to do the install without dropping the transfer case, which I wasn't willing to do.

So, you can put me on the list as interested, but I am not a definite, at least for several more months.

(Thanks for the PM Longodj)

I was thinking about getting the rear bar NOW also cause I can get it installed quickly....but I'm affraid of the install costs.

But I don't know how that will affect handling. Bigger/Better bar in the rear increases or decreases oversteer?

SteelTorque, stiffer bar in the rear will increase oversteer, and decrease roll in the rear. Front bar will increase understeer but with the compromise of decreasing roll in the front. Thus, the rear is what I really wanted to start as our cars push like a bitch. But, along with non-staggered wheels/tires, F&R should give you a very balanced ride. If I'm wrong, please correct me Oh and also, the beautiful thing is that the rear is adjustable and the front is fixed. Hopefully the front would be a mild bar and you can adjust the rear to overpower the fronts and keep that bit of oversteer.

Oh and....you'll have to install the rear at some point, from what I understand the front should be DIYable so go ahead and purchase now! It'll probably give UUC even more incentive to keep on board too!

I'd love to jump on this train, but I just dropped almost $5K on suspension, wheels, and tires. So I may have to hold off for a bit. If it comes down to it and you absolutely need another for the list, I may reconsider cuz I don't wanna pass up a deal. So count me as very tentative.

Thanks bsavic! We've officially reached 20 (with 2 halves ) So! Tomorrow I will be contacting UUC, until then, please post here if you're interested! The more people we have the more likely they will be to hurry this up! When I first spoke to them they confided in me that they are usually wary of dealing with xi users because there has been very little interest in the past. Let's PROVE THEM WRONG!
