The 335d is 'a bit quicker'. It doesn't 'destroy' other cars. It's not a transformer or anything. It's just a powerful diesel.

This was a real world situation and the observation made by the man who was actually there was:

"Those old 330i's were quite nippy"

And ... funnily enough ... he was right ...

A 335i could be said to be a tiny '' bit quicker' than a 335d in standard trim

A 335i/d is more than that to a e46 330i

Is there any unit of 'quicker' between 'a bit' and 'a lot'.

If there is that's what the difference is.

Mate, you are just a proper denzil hater.

E46 330i is no where near a E46 M3. A 335d in standard trim is just as quick as the M3.

Am only winding you up Carlos I don't hate denzils. Just happy I don't have to drive one

So is the 335i as quick as an e46m3 then?

What about a z4m (same engine / less weight)?

Yes mate. There was countless videos and arguments when the 335i came out to whether its as quick as an E46 M3. General consensus is there near enough identical.

Nice

I must say that it feels similar in speed terms - totally different delivery though

seeing as we are using this precise measurment of speed diffrence, how much quicker is the 335d than the

tdci mondeo
Audi 2.0 tdi 170 bhp
330d 231 & 184 bhp versions
milk float (electric)
335i ?

your thoughts please...

i also think we should include 'fare bit quicker' as well....

I have a Vid of me against a Seat Ibiza Cupra R if you want to see it. The Cupra in the video would muller the Mondy and Audi and beat 184 330D not, 230 one though!

I had an E46 330i touring for 5 years, (is that an e47?) and always thought it was a bit underwhelming actually. If you wrung it out in every gear it was quick, but a little flat in the midrange, say 2000 - 3500 rpm. Felt like another 50lb/ft in the midrange was needed.
