Golf tee mod

I just did this mod and I can def hear the sound diff. I just ran my cobb and got a code of p2e4c. I'm sure it's not a big deal but when I take it back to get it serviced, Ill just take the Cobb off and connect the wire back up and be good. Just a FYI for people contemplating doing this, I saw do it. I was on the fence for a few weeks on doing this and I finally caved and set what the hell. Why not. And it's def worth it! Car sounds means and aggressive without an expensive exhaust upgrade. No power loss or anything like that. Just pure sound.

I believe this could work in any BMWs that has an exhaust pipe with it.
The only problem is finding the plug, otherwise you risk throwing a code~

This is purely a "vanity" mod...nothing to be gained other than a more robust exhaust sound from a cold start........without the mod fire up the car and wait ~45 seconds and you will have the full sound of your dual exhaust system.

This is a good mod. Still trying to decide if I like the "drone" while on the highway though...

There is no "drone" to be had, that exhaust valve opens shortly after start-up and remains open until the car has cooled down before staring up again...this is purely function of the car to heat the catalytic converters up for normal driving conditions.

Nope, it works all the time even when the car is warmed up. I have a vert and, when open, I can hear the valve opening and closing every time (that's one of the reasons I disabled mine). The purpose is to limit the deeper, louder exhaust note at low rpm. The valve (when warm) is open on idle, but the moment you take off you can hear a "click" and the exhaust gets muffled. It won't open again until 2500-3000 rpm when the exhaust needs the full capability to breathe. At high rpm there is no difference between valve enabled and disabled, as it would be open anyway. And it is true that there is no performance to be gained.

When doing the mod the car sounds much nicer and louder while casually driving around at low rpm. It also does have a little drone at highway speeds in high gear as the engine runs in low rpm range where the flap would normally be closed.
