Adding Sat Radio

A car came in that I want, the only issue is that is does not come with Sat radio. The dealership wants to charge me 1,000 to install it. If I go to best buy or some place like that, can they install it and use my existing shark fin antenna? Or do I need to have wires sticking out of some other antenna somewhere on my car?

if the car is prepped for sat radio, then you get get the module and put it in yourself. Then all it needs is the dealer to code the car.

This is a brand new 2010 335 coupe. Do they all come prepped for sat radio? Or only if it comes with the package?

2010+ models have Sirius built into the head unit, this is no longer the case.

If Sirius is not specified during the ordering process, a new Head Unit w/ Sirius support must be ordered and retrofitted.

Going to Best Buy won't help reduce the price too much because:
1) You will still have to use the BMW SAT module which is pricy.
2) You will have to pay for 1-2 hours of labor at the dealership to reprogram car (which has to be done after you add the module).
3) Best Buy isn't that cheap.
