AFAIR remove the press-in fixings on the vertical face, then remove the plastic covers on the horizontal face (shown in your pic) which will reveal further fixings. Then prise back the boot seal to remove.

Is there a way to remove the ones on the vertical face as I can't seem to budge them.

You need a forked plastic trim remover, allows you to wedge the fixings out from both sides

I've got some chinese plastic ones but still nothing comes out. I don't really want to break the fixings but they are not moving one bit,

Maybe dye it black instead. Won't rub off like paint eventually will due to it being a high traffic area as the dye penetrates the plastic.

I've dyed the carpets as the grey is just like bad 80's car. However I have special paint for the plastic so should be good when black.

Are you trying to get the middle bit out first? They're in two parts, remove the middle then the outer bit...

I have been trying to remove the grey round button fixings. I presumed you slid a fork style tool under the button to remove button/pin from hole but they don't want move. Will be having a look this morning.

If you lift the button head slightly you will see the second part underneath, you need to pry the button head away from that.

Have you got pictures of the whole boot area now it's black i think black would look much better than that cheap grey

Difficult to get good pictures of dark things lol. You cannot get the carpet as black as night whatever you do, but its now a lot darker and with all the trim painted black looks much better.

Do prefer black over the grey. Nice work.

Cheers everyone. Yes the boot is never going to win awards on an E90 and I find it odd that I have seen E91 pictures where the carpet or lining is far posher!

But it looks better than the grey that is for sure. I use Autotek paint. When I stripped out my grey leather interior and replaced 90% of it with M-Sport alcantara setup I used the paint to cover the last few grey bits like the main dashboard. Good results.

Plastidip etc is good but I'd be worried that if something nics it you have to peel it all off and start again. At least with the type of paint I use you can just give it a quick spray in situ if it gets badly marked.

I appreciate BMW needed to make it durable in that position but it really is laughable quality. I had Skyline's before this and they have the cheapest interiors ever but nothing as awful as this.
