I confirmed it wasn't a true constant by connecting it to a test lamp, and it took 30 mins after ejecting key before it finally went dead. Remember any action you take, including closing the door, will likely reset that 30 min timer.

I had the car sitting for quite some time off and left the doors open. And still had power. I don't think I had done anything that would have turned it on. Regardless if I had power to the yellow the stereo should turn on.

I think the red wire that goes to Terminal #14 Accessory gets power when the key is inserted. This turns the stereo on. So I think I need to supply power to that.

So to get constant power to the radio I put in an Add-A-Fuse Tap like this https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-NI-FH...dDbGljaz10cnVlI got one at Advance Auto Parts. I then ran a wire over and used some T-Taps like these https://www.amazon.com/Nilight-Termi...=t-taps&sr=8-3 because I had to run power to wires #14 Accessory and #16 Power +12v. Now I have power to the radio all the time, and virtually instant on. I just have to remember to 'power' it down when I leave the car. I am thinking about putting in a switch to kill power to it complete for extended periods when I'm not using the car so I don't have a dead battery. |

If your red wire only gets power with key in slot, and yellow is a true constant, you should be golden.
Red wire controls when the unit wakes up, so you want it to auto wake up with key, and auto sleep with key eject. The constant yellow will store your presets and allow for instant resume. You shouldn't ever need to manually power off the system. In fact, even if you try to force shut down, it just reboots again since it's got constant power (even if screen appears to be off, unit is just in sleep mode). Hope that makes sense!

Yeah I get the sleep mode, but it has to be drawing some power. And during the summer I don't drive this as much. So it sits for weeks. Don't need to put a trickle on it normally. So that's why I was thinking a kill switch.
I wish the red could just put it to sleep. It is already saving my presets, before I did this. |

Onto other problems. I know the Blue antenna wire is for if you have an antenna 'amp'. I don't, but it sure seems like I should. Any solutions for that? Cuz the FM signal is bad.
Also I can't long press the home screen to add widgets or change wallpaper like you normally do on Android. When I do it just opens the last opened app. Any fixes for that? |

Rather than a kill switch, you should have just left the yellow as-is then, let it die after 30m so it stops drawing power. As you said, unit is retaining your presets anyway (and you can auto-update time from GPS too I believe).
Sorry, can't help you much with the antenna situation, but I can offer this: I had a similar problem before the Eonon (Pioneer double din), and my installer said he had to add power to the antenna, and then it worked excellent. So when I switched to the Eonon, that change was already done. Don't know what he specifically did though. To customize your home screen, I don't remember, but try long pressing on the home screen itself to enter the customize mode.

Yeah I thought about that. But I want to start up right away in the morning and anytime for that matter. If I got the heated seats button relocation then I might change that.
Yeah I have to look into the antenna thing. Yeah been trying that long press thing. I have the newest unit. GA9365 running 9.0 so I think it just might be this software build |

Well my wiring turned out as a bad idea. Less then 48 hours and battery was dead. Pulled the fuse. Got it charging.
Gonna have to find something else to work to power it up early. Need to find what ever powers the lights when you unlock the car, then it will be booted up fully, hopefully. |

Mine will sit for several days and the battery is fine.
I have connected only the thick yellow wire to the constant +12V. I cut the other two thinner yellow wires so they are powered only when the car is awake (they feed the CANBUS adapter and my backup camera). Re: antenna. On my car I had two antenna leads going into the factory head unit. I experimented with both to figure out which one provided better FM reception. Sorry I can't recall which was the 'right' one but you may want to check yours. Re: Heated seats. Did you look into just replacing the climate control with one that has heated seat buttons? https://www.ebay.com/itm/BMW-E90-3-S...l/222579241167 Last edited by Canuck335; 10-07-2019 at 11:22 AM.. |

Seriously interested in installing one of these in my 335i without nav. All I see on the Eonon site Is the GA9365... an upgraded version of the 9165?
Also anybody use one of the eom like trunk handle backup cameras with this instead of the Eonon camera? |

9165 - PX5 octacore with 4GB RAM 9365 - PX30 quadcore with 2GB RAM (PX30 is generally considered in between PX3 and PX5) I don't think they make the 9165 anymore, so you may not have much of a choice... As for the backup cam, I do have the ebay camera (with integrated trunk button/handle) from the DIY $130 backup camera thread, and it worked as expected.

I am really interested in the trunk handle camera. I've seen them for like 30 bucks. Does it do night vision? |

Does night vision fairly well with stock lights and the video cable includes a 12V supply wire. So all you have tap at the trunk lid is a ground (I used the RR tail light ground wire). https://www.ebay.ca/itm/Car-Rear-Vie...a/172559331857 |

Yeah that's the backup camera I was looking at. I like the ones they were also showing in that link for one that replaces the trunk light bulb, but I just see it being uneven lighting to the other trunk light bulb. |

What about volume levels?
The maximum level this unit allows is not loud enough for me. I have the loudness button selected in the EQ. But after that, no change. Also Netflix is really quiet. |

Do these aftermarket head units bypass the amp that is supposedly in the left rear trunk of my E93?
I have the regular hifi system without nav and am wondering what is going to be powering the subs under the front seats? The Eonon's are 45 x 4 I think... seems meager to be the only power source for everything. From everything I've read I'm still not getting a clear consensus of how good or bad the sound fidelity is compared to the stock system. |

- Base? - HiFi? - L7? If you have the base system I think you might need to connect the speakers to the RCA outputs of the Eonon. My understanding is that the RCA are speaker out, but the 16-pin harness has only line level outputs (i.e., not powerful enough to drive speakers). |

Sound fidelity is better than stock, IMO. But I do hear a noticeable hiss at low volume levels that gets masked as the volume is increased. Note that it's not going to be better than the top brand aftermarket stuff like Pioneer, Alpine, etc. |
