Driving to the track with soft track tires ok?
I have to drive 51.8 miles to get to the track.
Would it be ok to drive to the track and drive back home (total 103.6 miles) with my Kumho Ecsta V710 tires on the car? (UTQG rating 30) I'm wondering if I'm going to be wearing them down to nothing just driving to the track? Thank you! Sam

I know that quite a few people do that. I drive about 40 round trip, but since I've always done it, I have no basis on which to judge wear. There will be some, but nothing compared to the track as you won't be generating the same heat.

Depends on the tires..if you said Hoosiers..then I would say no...but if you are on Toyo RA1 or Michelin Pilot Sport Cups..then I say you should be fine. I actually drove about 100 miles each way on my Pilot Sport Cups. I use to always change tires at the track...I guess I am getting lazy.

Good point. Check the forecast as you also don't want to be on a soggy track in V710s

The freeway is not where you want to be drifting. Race tires in the rain on the way to the track is not a fun situation.
You should be fine driving on them to the track for that short distance. I've gone 171mi one way (>300mi round trip) to Buttonwillow on RA-1's, multiple times a year, and not noticed any real wear. Most of the wear is going to come from your time on track.
