Just replaced the charcoal canister on the Z3. Filled the fuel tank full. Ran it around the mountains afterward. Hopefully the gas fume issue is solved. Slow 4-banger M44 tied to a lightweight E36 chassis; such a joy to drive. Worst-built BMW I've owned, but in September 2017, my wife and I celebrated the Roadster's 20th year with a 6,000-mile road trip out West.

Some folks are afraid to drive their E90 100 miles away from home; you and I both know better .

What schedule would that be? The one with an average OCI of 16.3K for the first 13 oil changes? Or 100,000 mile plug changes? 95,000 trans and diff oil and coolant changes? IIRC a 4Skinner calls for 5,000 OCI - LOL

Funny how I can have a blast in my 170hp E30, but all these mulletheads think you can only have fun in an overweight pig of a car that's fast in a straight line*. Just mash the go pedal, the car shifts and everything for you... no skill required.

*(but is it? an average Tesla would embarrass any 335i in a drag race - modded or not. somebody else always has a 'faster' car)

The Tesla is a game changer for sure and you're right, someone will always have a faster car. My original post was basically saying that despite the shitty reliability of the 335i, I still have fun driving it.

All while driving a 328i, something I wouldn't drive even if you paid me. In 6-months I'll have a GT-R in my garage next to my wife's Tesla. So I guess I'll have no shortage of off the line fun then since my 335i is "so slow".
LOL. It was just merely suggested that the metric of your measuring instrument may be a ratio rather than full-to-scale, similar to using a Architect's ruler, which gave you a false size reading of your appendage. It appears you were the one who became upset. I believe your experiences of rolling on and successfully drag racing 800cc sportbikes gave you a false positive of the virility of your automobile.

Not sure I can agree, it depends on the model.

My 06' 325i has 235,000 and has been very reliable, the 08' X5 3.0si has 205,000 and has needed minimal repairs, and the 14' 535i hasn't needed a single repair all the way to 85,000 miles.

You mean the fairly liberal factory maintenance schedule that people claim will kill your car after 50,000 miles? Because that's the one he follows.

At this rate the G20 is only gonna last 25k?!

I did have 2 VANOs jobs under warranty, and my ABS/DSC hydro failed out of warranty (go figure and at around 46k) causing me to DIY ($4,200 is a hella don't!). But other than that my car has been reliable, granted it is "not" a DD and it has 53k since 12/06.

You just reminded me of the movie Porky's. He wakes up, measures, and says something like, "I think the m**** ***** got smaller!"

I was in awe of the 330i when it came out in summer 2005--was at the reveal where they pulled the cover off. The only reason I ended up with a 335i is because I didn't have my ducks in a row and it would be about 14 more months before I ended up ordering a BMW. 330i is a pretty capable car, I did the ultimate drive with professional instructors and back then it was RE050's that they scorched on the track.

In it's time it was great. My brother owned one. I'm comparing it to the e9x chassis 328i.

It doesn’t take a lot of money to afford the stuff you have, don’t kid yourself.
Almost anyone making a starting EE base salary could afford that. Whether it’s a sound financial decision is another matter entirely.

All this e-bragging tho. Gross. You must be a real joy to be around irl.

You can make car payments until they’re paid off and start making new car payments? Oh yeah, that’ll show everyone how smart you are. 👍
