Google it. It's out there in PDF form for sure. I have it on my home computer I found it last week with a simple google search.

I have a 328i Sedan like you consider replacing your lifebloods (fluids) and increasing your oil change intervals if you've only been doing the once per year changes.

- Spark Plugs
- Manual Trans Fluid Drain/Fill
- Brake Fluid Drain/Fill
- Coolant Drain/Fill
- Power Steering Drain/Fill
- Differential Fluid Drain/Fill
- Have your battery checked (I think there's lots of shops that do this free)
- Check your serpentine belt/tensioner pulley (common for these to need replacement)

There are DIY's for all of these on this forum in the DIY section. If you aren't the DIY type, check out your local indie shop for better pricing than dealer.

Yeah if you know none of them have been done, you should do them all.

If you don't know if they have been done, you should do them all

Especially if you plan to keep the car.

On the E9X, 100,000 miles is the milestone for fluid changes: Diff(s), Trans, and coolant per BMW's maintenance schedule. Brake fluid is every two years based on build date. N52 require plugs at 100K. N54 are 45K plugs. Engine airfilter is every 3rd oil change (average of 15K OCI) about 45,000 miles unless you drive in dusty conditions. Tischer sells a full tune up kit that has oil and oil filter, engine airfilter, cabin airfilter, and plugs.

That's what BMW states, yes, but certainly no harm in doing them earlier as we all well know. I for one am not keen on "lifetime" anything. lol…

Mike Miller FTW.

I've done mine a bit shorter than at 100K intervals (80K - 90K) and I'm at 237,000 miles. My car runs almost as new.

Mike Miller's guide is a copyrighted form: he asks websites that have it posted to delete it. Email him at techtalk@roundel.org and he'll email you a copy, whether you're a BMWCCA member or not.

That's awesome to hear. Good for you and your car. Gives me hope because I plan to keep mine indefinitely

LOL.

Mike Miller's schedule is nothing more than BMW's maintenance schedule pre-1997 when they switched to free (pre-paid) maintenance plan. Mike Miller's plan is the old BMW "Oil Service" - "Inspection 1" - "Inspection 2" maintenance schedule.

Actually, no. He has updated it very recently, with varying recommendations for newer models. In addition, his always had cooling system replacement and suspension stuff in it, which BMW never did.

Well if it includes BMW maintenance information based on BMWs previous maintenance scheme (which it does) then it contains BMW copyrighted material, which he can not claim copyright to, unless he and BMW have negotiated exclusive use of BMW copyrighted material. I doubt BMW would agree to exclusive use of BMW copyrighted material since other companies, such as Bentley, use it as well.

What are the repercussions to not changing the brake fluid every two years? If the car is stopping just fine, and pending if you have 5k miles a year vs 15k miles over those 2 years?

Contamination of the brake fluid with water. Can cause premature failure of the pistons, and can cause loss of braking due to boiling of the water (lower boiling point than the fluid) - brake fade.

Even Mike Miller has said that every two years is not necessary for the average car on the street.
Optimal yes, but I bet the average age of all brake fluid in the cars on the road is 5+ yrs. You don't see brake failures crippling cars all over the place.
Doing track days? Complete opposite situation.

A Water pump and thermostat change if you didn't do it already...one or the other usually goes at the worst time possible and worth the piece of mind knowing you got a fresh WP and T-stat after 90K
