Me too. I have the smart top module set to 25mph but I always watch out for the road ahead. When I do it in traffic on the freeway people back off further because they aren't sure if I might turn into a robot or not LOL! Its funny and cool! LMAO! But yeah I have never had any issues. I wouldn't do it in high wind though...
are you using the smartop or is yours coded to do that? I might get that done today if its just a coding issue

Nope but use Gummy Fledge on my seals monthly It keeps the rubber from getting dry and cracking.

I'll just play it safe and drop the top when I'm at a stand still. A bump can make your life a living hell.

No the proper name is gummi pflege. But that's German so maybe it's been anglicized somewhere.

Bimmette is correct its pflege, I usually use Gummi Pflege once a month, but do the whole top maintenance thing every 3 months.

If anyone is interested in a Wind Deflector for $250 this guy is selling one, there are four points that go into the holes in your rear seat door cards. One of the tabs is broken he states, but that should still work well, given the other 3 are good. He does mention there is a easy fix for it.

I highly recommend one. You can drive Top and windows down with one of these installed and not ruin your hairstyle

Wind Deflector is a must have - I paid $275 new in 2008 - can't believe how much the price has gone up over the years, but extends the driving season - in Vancouver, you can pretty much get year round - with the windows up and wind deflector in, anything 40 degrees F and above is fine, especially if you ahve heated seats!

I have a smart top - #1 thing you should get on an E93 and mine is set to 25mph but generally only use it at low speed in the parking lot etc (other nice feature of the smart top is that you can open and close the top as you are walking up to or away from the car, so usually it is pretty much down by the time I drive away. In the off chance I need to put it up or down in traffic or at a light it is nice to have a little speed to do it, nothing looks dumber than putting your top up or down at a light and have the light change and you either can't move or the roof stops when you do!!!

Gummi Pflege is pretty good stuff - Krytox is better but really expensive 20 bucks for a half once. The half ounce tube is good for 2 treatments of the seals - it lasts much longer - once, twice a year is all you need and it keeps the seals like new - it takes longer to massage into the seals, but you need to do it much less.

Yep not saying it's not risky, but as one person said it's a pain when you are dropping your top at a light and it changes green that alone is a good reason to purchase one. Plus the one touch open and close of windows and top is awesome. No more pulling or pushing a button.

FYI.

You guys have all taken care of your battery issue right? I took mine in last month. Here is the service advisory for it. It's a free service. So if you haven't done it, probably good to get it done so your vehicle doesn't stall and leave you stranded.

Mac.

There's a used SmartTop for sale on this site. I can't believe all the guys here who keep saying Wind Deflector is a must... Wow. The SmartTop in my opinion, if I had $300 to spend, would be worth 10 times more than a Wind Deflector. I barely feel the wind in the front seat with the windows up.

You guys are too sensitive. Why the F did you buy a convertible if a little wind messes up your hair?
