I love my akrapovic, and I get compliments from others with exhausts on their E90's all the time. Smooth and quiet until you put your foot down. On the track is where it really opens up.

I don't think I've heard Akrapovic on the N55 yet ... do be our guest.
Do you have a DP yet? I'd go that route first, personally ...

both are great exhausts. whether you choose to stick with vanguard or pick up an akrapovic is a win-win situation. if i were you, i'd stick with the vanguard and use that money for performance mods such as a catless dp, charge pipe, fmic and meth

When it comes to quality/fitting nothing comes close to Akrapovic, I have the evolution system on my n55 335i and it is awesome. Have had many aftermarket systems previously such as hks/trust etc. but none of them come close to Akrapovic, downside is they are crazy expensive and do not sound all that loud if you do not have an aftermarket dump pipe to go along side with it.
Depends what you are after, the weight saving is amazing also. |

i want a dump pipe - sounds awesome. OP get a dump pipe like antony says and the exhaust will growl. if u want performance - look at a tune and down pipe. Only ur wallet can tell you if u want the Akrapovic.

Why Akrapovic? Sure it's a great system but personally, I really like the AE performance exhaust as it's probably one of the best sounding exhausts out on the market today. Titanium exhausts can be finicky at times, but with a real screamer of an exhaust, AE will really do the trick
