See if they'll give you a BMWCCA discount, and if so, pay $45 to join.

I got the discount and paid $2084 total, including tax.

That is the full price: Most paid that. If you can do better, try it.

I paid same price too, I could have done better if I had gone to Tischer, but couldn't work any workable schedule that didn't involve loosing a day of work, so it was ok to pay the extra dough. If you can do better, go for it.

Just tell them you want a discount, 10% total or you will take your business somewhere else. It is already an outrageous price so I don't think you will have a problem.

Hey, I just had an idea, when you get this flash done they do it through your OBD port right? So wouldn't it be possible to have a device that would record it as it passed it through to your ecu? I'm not saying...I'm just saying

That sounds like a reasonable price, they wont care at Thompson care that I bought it at another dealer right? (I'm assuming you did also) Will they be able to tell when I take it in for service, other than the obvious added power that is?

Pound for pound, my Jack Russell would make your dog even more ugly, if that is actually possible.

Just get it. I paid about that much but that included shipping to and from california (at the time '08 ECUs had to be shipped to Dinan for flash). It's worth it, NONE of the other alternatives match BMW's warranty. You just bought a $50,000 car - don't quibble over a couple hundred bucks.
