I installed the latest beta stage 1 aggressive 401 map and took my car for a drive. After some spirited driving, I got a P29CE error code and service engine light. Car started sputtering and shaking. I immediately stoped the car, changed the map to stage 1 301 aggressive, and drove home. No more errors and the car seems to be running fine now. I wondering why so many people are having issues with 401 maps? BTW, this is the first time I have ever had any error codes thrown due to COBB, I'm staying away from 401 maps for now.

For those of you who track your car (AutoX) do you recommend not running the most aggressive tune as it applies to your specific mods?
Don't run Cobb now but just would like to know.

You need to datalog and analyze how well your car likes the tune. If the logs look great stage 2+ aggressive then that's what map you should run for the best performance.

I'd assume (very dangerous word on this forum) that it's still an issue since the v40x maps are still listed as beta on the COBB website.

I have catless DP, and everything except section 3 is stock. Since my e92 is my DD, is running stage 2-drive safe? Or should I be running no tune?
In terms of safety I am thinking of it being harmful to my engine and thereby decreasing the life of my car.

Hi everyone Im considering getting the Cobb AP. Ive read that the AP increases the rev limit to 7200 RPM. Is this also true for the Auto trans or just the 6MT?

Its for both, but at the same time it is pointless to rev that high especially on stock turbos since they run out of breath up top.

If you look at COBB's dynos (in the map notes section of each tune), HP peaks around 5,000 RPMS and last until 6,000. Reving past 6500 is only good for noise as the powerband falls off substantially at that point.
Dumb question: are you sure its boost oscillation or are you leaking? Possible that at Stage 2+ that you've got a leak somewhere. You don't list any of your mods in your sig, but if you have any OEM bits left outside of the map requirements (upgraded intake, DPs & FMIC), that either the OEM DVs or CP is the source of your leak. |

If you do not manually shift, at 6800 RPM.

WGDC looks normal (~50-52 range) and no leak code... no codes at all lol so I don't think i'm leaking but yes I do have stock DV's/CP |

The stock CP/DVs might not be responsive enough under WOT at that boost setting, can't forget that stock boost is less than 9 psi (so you're running about double the pressure/stress being put on the OEM bits). I'm not gonna tell you that spending ~$600 on aftermarket DVs + CP is "magically" going to fix the problem. Have you had COBB looks at your logs to see if maybe they know what's going?

It's a well known issue that cobb has stated a few times (in this thread) that they are working to fix before v4 comes out of beta. I have it too, pretty much don't notice it at this point but it's very annoying when you pay attention to it.
