Installed my Sirius unit last night; I think I did everything right but wanted to get some feedback on it. Car is at the dealer right now for programming so I hope I didn't screw up.

Two things that scared me were after all was said and I done I disconnected the neg. battery cable to see if maybe everything needed a reset before Sirius would show up; that made no difference but I did get greeted with an excess discharge warning and no FM/AM Radio. This morning FM/AM was back, and after a drive to Starbucks the warning was gone.

I assume it's due to me having interior lights on for about 2 hours along with stereo playback..

Here is what I found upon the PITA non folding rear seat removal:

1) My entire lower block is full from the factory, which means the upper (typically "dead") block on most cars needed to be utilized.

2) After all was said and done I appeared to have full functionality, minus sirius, but my 6FL/Radio/BT/Nav were all functioning so I assume my loop is valid.

Does that look ok or wrong to anyone ?

I will be watching this thread like a hawk...

I have to dive in to my MOST loop tonight to do the very same thing.

Good luck.

And I TOTALLY agree on the rear seat removal, what a bitch it was, the latches are not very intuitive are they.

Actually...... (embarassment) the latches were ok, it was the two T50 torx bolts.. I removed the wrong two. I ended up unbolting the seat belt anchors. The two seat back torx bolts are located in the middle under the bottom of the back seat but some what high up, they are kind of at a high angle I was afraid of scratching the leather but it was ok. Getting them back in was a pain because I was again fearful of putting a hole in the leather or something!

The important thing to remember is that the MOST system is a loop.

EVERYTHING must loop and then terminate back into the unit. My co workers neighbor is a tech @ BMW and he said it really doesn't matter what order things are in, as long as the loop is valid.

For Example:
([I]nput / [O]utput)

Vehicle [O] -> [I] Bluetooth
Bluetooth [O] -> [I] IBOC/Radio
IBOC/Radio [O] -> [I] 6FL/USB
6FL/USB [O] -> [I] Sirius
Sirius [O] -> [I] Vehicle

That makes a complete loop.. I think..

Dealer says they enabled Sirius but it's not working; does anyone see anything wrong with what I did re: my MOST loop?

FYI I'm using a Sirius tuner that was superceded by a newer unit on 03/07; my vehicle build date is 10/07.

Really? You got your receiver from eBay, right?

Did the dealer install a new receiver for you?

My eBay seller apologized and said ship it back for a refund

Bought a new receiver from the dealer for $444; I told them I would install it - I needed to swap receivers so I can send the bad one back, but doing so would require a new receiver to put in it's place or re-config my MOST loop again.. I plugged the new one in when I got home, works fine.. They told me I would need to come back again to get the 12 digit code from them, I don't think they realized the 12 digit code is just the radio id printed on the label.

NO MORE FM RADIO! Stations here completely suck, on the way home 5 stations were all on commercials at the same time.

Yay, and I have to thank my dealer for not charging me for investigating a bad Sirius unit or coding the car for sat radio!
