AUL Extended Warranty Quote

My warranty is expiring this month on my 2007 328i. I got a quote from my local BMW dealer on an extended warranty through AUL. They say it's the same coverage as BMW warranty. It is for 6 years (from today) or up to 100k miles at $2485.

Has anyone heard of AUL before? That seem like a fair price or do you think there is room to negotiate is bit?

Never heard of AUL... I got the extended warranty on my '06 3er in 2010 when my standard 4 year 50k ran out. It will get me through 2012 or 100k.

It cost about 2 grand US.

So, if what you're saying is you will have a FULL (or at least parts / drivetrain) warranty for SIX more years for a meager little $2,500, I'd jump on it.

AUL is based out of Napa, Ca. The local BMW dealers in my area offer their warranty as well. They says it is good but I know another Ford dealer which dropped them. I am looking it the Ford ESP warranty. The BMW dealers seem to like them and claim they know how to process claims effectively with them. Their theory was you need to know how to write up a claim to get it approved as some assembly parts are not covered but the complete assembly would be approved. So far the best advice I was given is the shop doing the repairs should be familiar with the warranty company and the warranties exclusions.

It will not be 6 years from today. At least not for $2500. Most extended warranties to 100k miles are 6 or 7 years from the time the car was first placed in service.

What "same coverage as the BMW warranty?" The 4/50 warranty? The BMW extended warranty? The BMW CPO? If the BMW extended warranty, which one?
