Have a look at this and tell me what you think

So, I have a 2007 335i sedan 35K on the clock. Had to add a quart of oil today, no biggie. But when I lift the fill cap I see this build up, see pictures.

It's not sludge like but is, as you can see, brownish in clolor. You can see where I wiped it with my finger. I have never seen anything like this on any car I have ever owned. Some with 4 times the mileage. My E30 M3, M5 etc never.

Any ideas what the deal is? I can go to the dealer and have them look at it but unless there is a code I am sure they will say it's normal.

Not moisture. The car was warm and moisture tends to look more like cream caramel.

Anyone else want to look at their car and tell me if you have a similar condition?

My older 330ci's oil cap looked like that around 55k...natural course? Catch can? dunno.

Normal vehicle opearation

Cold weather and relatively short runs will cause this.

Thanks. I do take some short trips and did not think about that point. I'm going to do a longer drive today and will check it after that.
