QuickJack July 2017 Promo Code?

Hi Everyone,

I spoke with a QuickJack (https://www.quickjack.com) representative and they said they have a $100 promo code running right now on the Discovery and History channels. I can't find them online. Has anyone on hear found/used their current promo code? If so, mind sharing?

Thanks!

I think I saw the commercial this past weekend. I think the promo code was MONEY. I think it was good for $100 off.

21" off the ground is really high. That would be a nice set up. Especially since it's portable. Only thing would be does one have a way of storing it while it's not in operation.

Maybe find a way to strap it to the garage wall ?

I'd get the 5000# version just in case you ever get a mid-sized SUV like an X5. I think the 3 series might weight close to 3500# with a 3.0L engine and adding fuel etc.

I push mine together and leave them in the middle of the garage floor and simply park over top of them. And definitely get the larger one and the extended version. I have the original 5000 and it's too short for my 535i. Had to get stainless 1/4"x4"x6' bar stock to lay on top of them to reach the lift blocks on the car.

I have a lowered 335i. So, driving over top of them, wouldn't work. I'd have to make some sort of contraption to secure them upright to the garage wall.

I've heard owners of lowered cars may be able to slide them in from the side of the car. You can't store them under the car but you can still use them for service.

I've looked at the 5000EXT but supposedly my X5M is tipping the scale at Katy over 5200lbs.

Might be more trouble than what it's worth but I've seen pics online where people used some 10' long 2"x12" wide boards and even put little blocks on the end as bump stops.

Got a picture of how you did this? Even the EXT are a few inches too short to fit my X5M but I'm not interested in spending another $250 more for the 6000EXT.

Sorry, I've been out of the country and just saw this. I simply went to a local metal supplier and purchased a 1/4" x 4" x 12' length of Type 304 stainless steel flat bar which they cut into two 6' sections. The total cost was around $100. I place the short rubber blocks at the furthest edges of the jack surface and lay the bar stock on top of it. Here's a photo of my 535i on the lift, resting on the bar stock. As you can see, the bar stock deflection is minimal.

I can't tell from the pictures - are you centering the steel on the quickjack, or is all of the extra length in the front? It appears from this angle that all the extra length is in the front. There ought to be less deflection if they're centered, right?

Did you think about going with 1/2" stock?

This feels like a clever solution to add the length of the QJ but I have to be honest - the deflection in the picture (from this angle) is enough to lightly buzz my spidey sense. I don't think I'd be comfortable with any visible deflection.

The QuickJack is centered and the bar stock extends beyond the lifting pads so the deflection looks worse than it is. It's really not a problem, but if you want to go with 1/2" thick bar stock you certainly can do so. The cost would probably be around $250 and each 6 foot section would weigh over 40 lbs. That, plus the weight of the QuickJack (around 100 lbs per side) would make it almost unmanageable, IMO. You're probably better off getting stainless channel stock instead.

I got my 12V 7000EXT going today, I'm pretty happy with it. I'm sitting on about 2/3 of each jack pad but it's definitely stable. I've lowered the X5M so I was only able to use the large blocks vs being able to stack them. I used pressure treated 4x4 posts with my floor jack when i needed extra height for certain things, so I'll look into cutting them down to fit into the QuickJack trays to see if I can find a happy medium.

I've yet to see how it'll lift our E36, E38, E61 or the Harley F150 for spacing but I'm not worried about it.

These fuckers are heavy, kinda makes me wish I got the 5000EXT since each jack is like 60lbs vs 100lbs, but my X5M and F150 are both a hair over 5k so I didn't wanna risk it. Nevertheless they'll still fit into the trunk of the X5M so long as they're in the up position...the ultimate in portability
