However I suppose it's a case of "each to their own" as some might like the look of an M badge. Also I may get shot down in flames here, but if I'm merely playing "devils advocate", you could say there is little difference to badging your car especially if it is in M Sport, than cosmetically modding?

They don't look right in my view, but that's to a trained eye which knows an M-car without even seeing the badge, so M badges naturally look out of place on "ordinary" models.

I was in Birmingham on Sunday night staying at the Hyatt with the miswah and parked across the road was a 57 plate 320 vert with i kid you not ///M BOSS on the boot Dont know what he was the boss of? Maybe the car retard drivers club.
doesn't deserve to drive a car let alone a BMW i thought evolution would have got rid of these muppets by now... Tried to take a pic for everyone's amusement but it was dark and i only had my iphone on me

I agree no ///M boot badges on an non M car.
I have a sad story to report on badges though. Coming home one day I caught the glint of the E46 M3 exhaust. I love the E46 M3 one of the best looking motors ever made. I sped up a little to have a good look. I was horrifed. All the BMW and M Badges had been pulled off and replaced with the sadest of all M copy badges - see attachment. It was horrific. The wheels, the roundels, the m3 badge, the number plate had the lame M knock-off on it also. I pulled along side the guy and tried to explain how shite it looked in a way that would not come across like I was pointing and laugh at a chav, but sadly he didn't get it. I've seen the car a few times around the target roundabout A40. I almost feel like buying the car off him to fix the hideousness of it all. Regards, Neil

I was behind a 1 series coupe the other day he'd replaced all badges with a small ///m badge. I felt like ramming him. I couldn't get a photo though it was too dark!!!

Have not really been that bothered either way about this subject, although I would not do it myself.
However today I left Camp, and noticed a T Reg e46 soft top in front of me, which was blatantly a 32... (it had twin exhausts on the rear left). It had no "M3" OR M-Sport Mods on it whatsoever - apart from an M3 badge on the rear The first thing I thought was "Knob" , a real shame as the car was actually ok and in good condition, but that badge made the car look stupid. . |

No, no, no, no, no, no, no!
I guess it depends on who you are trying to impress (if anyone). If you want them for yourself, then that's fine. If you think it might impress someone else, then that's a different matter. Those you're trying to impress will know that it is meaningless and it's a wannabe. The rest won't have a clue what an M badge means anyway, so meaningless again I suppose! |

WOW!
These Euro owners take it to a whole new level... We don't get many diesel models in Canada, so when someone is being a douche-bag with an M badge on the boot, its only a one model reach..... Aw crap never mind that's no less idiotic. If its not an M- DONT FAKE IT. Just to clarify my earlier post: I do not condone or encourage M-badges on the car, I was simply saying that if you purchased a genuine BMW M accessory (like steering wheel, Rims, shifter) that come branded with a teeny tiny logo, you don't have to go de-badge it to maintain your dignity. Think of the zhp cars, but that's the ONLY exception.
