Exhaust cam

I got a code poo15
Exhaust (b) camshaft position timing over retarded bank 1
Need help is it a sensor or is my timing off?

The engine check light comes on after a couple weeks and then I check the code it goes away Amy ideas

Maybe just clarify the error code so that the fine gentlemen here can better help you with this. There's bound to be a more educated answer that will help you out of this poo situation.

Looks like VANOS or a Cam Position Sensor may be a culprit.

I think there is a way to get your dash to show an additional BMW specific code (I assume you don't have a BMW code reader). Let me see if I can find it. EDIT: Doesn't look like the check control codes in the dash can get that specific.
