I picked up my LCI CIC trim yesterday, so thats another step closer to getting it fitted
I just need a few cables sorting now and an emulator and then can get it all in. The brushed LCI trim is SO much nicer than smooth plastic! I tried to take a pic before and after, but it doesn't really show up on my camera I also tempted myself with some LCI Msport leather, so am tempted to get that too |

Love the car mate! As a fellow tourer owner I see plenty of things I want to replicate on mine.
Quick question, what bumper protector have you fitted? Want to get one for mine to stop the dogs claws from scratching it. Cheers |

It was already on the car when I got it, but from what I can tell its a genuine BMW one.
You can get them in clear plastic too so less noticeable, but I like this one as it is. I wish my estates in the past had it as it really does do the job well |

OP, I don't see too many E91's around especially in 6MT. Nice setup!

Very nice mate, love the red E91's.... Quick one where did you buy the rear diffuser from was it direct from BMW and did it clip straight onto the rear bumper (mine is a 2006 320d m sport)? I'm after a 335i exhaust setup on the back!
Thanks |

Werent you saying in your for sale thread (of the car) you prefered the alacantra? I know if i had the choice i'd have alacantra every time! ITs sooo much more comfortable & no cold bum in winter or roasting bum in summer

My pet hate, door cards! I must say though, they are a lot easier than some I have had to remove in the past.
All 4 swapped now, just the front seats to go |

When you've taken the door cards off as many times as I have.... you'll be able to do them in your sleep!
Looking good with the leather..... it's far better than the cloth! |

How simple is it removing them? I always found that you can introduce new rattles doing this? Do clips brake? etc..? Do you replace with new clips or anything when you remove and reinstall the door cards?
Or am i being stupid? I always did this on my civics etc.... but they were rattle cans in the first place... so didnt bother me |

To remove:
Take off the long trim strip by pulling it carefully from the front of the door end only. (There is a hook that will snap if you start at the other end) Start it off with a plastic trim puller or flat screw driver wrapped in a cloth to stop it marking anything. Move along prising it off bit by bit with your fingers. Now you will be able to access screws (on an E90/1 there are 3 on the drivers door, 4 on front passenger - one is in the top of the handle on the passenger front one, and 2 on the rears) Now use a trim puller or wrapped screwdriver at the bottom corner of the card and pop one of the clips. Using your fingers carefully work your way around the edge. Once all the clips are free you should be able to pull the whole door card off. Undo the door lock cable, window switch, speaker connector and puddle light connector and it should be free. Replacing is pretty much the same in reverse. I lined up the top edge of the card in its correct place, then if you look at the bottom clips in the gap you can see the holes they go in. Because of how they connect to the door card they can slide slightly off centre from the hole, push them back into place and with the palm of your hand knock the card back into place. Once you've done the first two the rest seem to be in the correct place. In doing all 4 cards I only broke one clip and that was on the first one I did as I hadn't worked out they slide out of alignment with the hole. Ive not had a single rattle since doing them |

Yesterday I made a 200 mile round trip to go and see Sam (Makan00) to fit and code my CIC retrofit after spending a few months rounding all the bits up.
What can I say apart from WOW! The difference between this and the old CCC is huge, I am SO glad I decided to go for it. I've now got full CIC with combox that works with the BMW Connected app, web radio, full iPod connectivity with album art, bluetooth music streaming, handsfree calling, DVD playback, full postcode search on the sat nav etc etc. As for Sam's skills, I cannot fault them. I knew I could of got someone a bit more local to install it, but after reading feedback from other people on here and seeing photos of his work I knew I wanted him to do all the work and coding. I'm a firm believer in do it once, do it right! His knowledge and skills showed straight away when we ran into a slight issue of getting power to the CIC screen as my car seemed to be slightly different being a 2005 model. Less than 5 minutes later it was sorted with no drama. The combox wasn't running the latest firmware so it wouldn't run all of the app's and services. He gave me the choice of updating it or not, and of course I wanted to get everything possible available to me! So again, with no fuss it was all updated and sorted. I've got a few photos I will post soon as I take some comparison ones with the CIC |
