Another place would be the Pavilions behind Sainsbury on Wetherby Road provided it's open. Or worst come to worst, Sainsbury's lot, by the carwash. Neither would be really good except as a meeting place.

Barring any last minute hickups, yes. I'm supposed to pick it up on the 24th.

If you mean a remap, no. My insurance company would demand my firstborn son. But then again, I'm not all that fond of him anyway.

Will, check out Gav's links in post #17. All I would say is that a few of the hotels in Harrogate are large Victorian terraced properties, therefore restricted to parking for obvious reasons. I was browsing last night and there are a few actually within the centre of or only 5 minutes walk from the centre of Harrogate. Secure parking is a must for me. One or two were already booked for that weekend though.

Some nice 4 star ones as well - they were the first ones I looked at funningly enough.

Will stay over if there's a few and depending on what's planned?

Think Alan and Mike had muted about staying over, rather than drive all the way back to Scotland in a day.

Don't know if Harrogate or even North Yorkshire for that matter will be able to take two days of the DXB.

That's right - I don't know if I have enough room in my passport for all the stamps I would need to get up to Harrogate... don't I have to go through Watford first, then Northampton, Leicester, up to Leeds, then even further NORTH ?? That's at least five stamps... good thing I don't have to go to Birmingham though - need a passport stamp for every street I go to, given they all speak a totally different language to English

ps... so where are you all staying?? It's about 200 miles from London to get up there - so if I come up, I'll definitely have to stay over...
