Also, the rental rate offered (and paid) by BMW NA is $69/day, quite generous. Your local Enterprise/Hertz can bump you into something even nicer if you express a need, for example working in real estate or entertaining potential clients.

Just had the 3 recalls done on my 2011 328i m sport wagon (airbag, PCV and blower motor resisted and wiring harness) and I didn’t use my climate control on the way home but when I get into the car today I don’t hear or feel any air coming out. Cranked it to high and pure silence. Blower is not working now. I’m so mad because I’m an hour and half away from that dealership that did the work.

For those who received a rental (not loaner) from Enterprise or another car rental agency through the dealership, did you have to submit your credit card for the recommended $250-$300 hold or did the dealership take care of this for you?

I’m scheduled for the 3 recalls next friday. I’ll make sure to test the blower. I got a loaner from the dealer which I requested. I didn’t know about the rental from 3rd party companies.

No. This recall is only for the wiring, and connector to the blower resistor. If the old wiring has damaged the blower resistor, then they will replace the blower resistor. They are not going to replace the whole blower motor, that not where the problem is.

Just like the right-angle PCV heater...they're only going to work from the outside of your valve cover and pop on/off the segment that needs work. Believe me, I was praying...and somehow a few got a VC out of it, but that was dumb luck and probably more of a courtesy fix with a little bit of early no-knowledge mixed in.

How come for my 2008 328xi, the site https://www.bmwusa.com/safety-and-emission-recalls.html still shows remedy unavailable for both the blower motor wiring and PCV valve heater? The status was last updated Sep 18, 2018.

Because they are hoping that something happens to the car before they need to pay for the repairs.

Call your local dealer and request they perform the repairs - they probably will not have an issue with it. If they say the parts are not available, you can request a rental car until the parts are available. My guess is that they will suddenly come up with the parts.

Is the OP in regards to the blower motor wiring harness recall? Or is there another one for the motor itself?

Damn... that's a bit shady.

Sounds good, I'll give them a call...

Just schedule the recall, I did mine in no time (both driver side airbag and the connectors for the blow-motor wire) They finished everything is a couple of hours....they dropped me in the mall in an Uber....had lunch then they sent an Uber to pick me up.

Pretty simple.

E90 Inoperative Blower Fan

Hello everyone, I have an '06 325i transition model and the blower fan stopped
working a month ago after years of service. I checked the fuse, changed the fan and the FSU but still no luck. The wiring shows no signs of damage and the car has never exhibited signs of water leaks coming in from above. The HVAC switches on just no fan. Any suggestions out there on where to look next?
Many thanks.

As understood the blower fan is not part of the recall only the connector wire and resistor but I am convinced that somehow the heat could have damaged my blower fan. I am now getting the attached sound when the car is at operating temp and under load. Does not appear to be mechanical and electronic.
Resistor and cable replaced this month by bmw under the recall but the noise was present before the recall.
Does anyone else have the same issue?

I have a question related to this. I've still yet to do this recall repair and my AC cooling has been a problem for the last year or so. I had it checked/refilled more than once since this started and nobody can find a leak. Can this recall cause any problems related to leaking refrigerant/not blowing cold air?

Or if it does not have anything to do with it can anybody advise where the leak may be (one mechanic said it might be in the dash which would have to be removed to check)?

Nope not related. Leak could be anywhere, but condenser is exposed and susceptible to damage.
