Pics of my 'old' cars

One for Carl this...he has requested pics of my 335i on another thread. I didn't want to hijack that thread so thought I'd start a brand new one to 'show off' some of my previous cars. Unfortunately, I wasn't that big into taking pictures in the past so I only have three.

This car was what I owned just before the 335i.....

It was my 4th Alfa, my 3rd 147 GTA after the first two kept going wrong (do I ever learn?) and it was actually very quick...faster than a Focus RS or R32 of it's day. I thought it was great.

Until I drove a BMW.

Then, here is the only picture I have of my old 335i....lovely huh?

They'd only been out a few months and it was the first time I'd ever spent over £25k on a car. I felt like a moviestar!

Finally, you've all seen pictures of my M3 and M6, but what you won't have seen is this particular car that I was very proud of.....

Now, you will see from the pictures that I had this at the same time as the M3. Very similar, I know, but one of them had to go! After much deliberation, I decided the Micra just didn't cut it against the M3.

What actually happened with the Micra was my mate worked for a Renault stealer. He got this in part-ex from an old guy who traded it in for a Clio. My mate gave him £1300 as a part-ex and sold it to me for the same money. The only fault was a big scratch on the bumper which the old guy had touched up with BROWN NAIL VARNISH! A Chipsaway visit and £90 later it was on eBay and sold for £2500...a tidy profit!

Thanks for looking; sorry if it's wasted 30 seconds of your life

I got the 335i on 1st March 2007 - brand new. Was the day the '07' plate came out so felt new for about....oooh....a day!

The 147GTA was a 3.2 V6 with 250 bhp. Was lush inside with black and tan leather and it 'smelt' Italian if you know what I mean. Had loads of torque steer and a shit ride but it was a bit different and so stood out! It also sounded lovely!

Didn't you want to know about the engine in the Micra? Why leave the Micra out???

The Micra was '04, a proper rapid 1.2 and yes, the wheels span very easily. It was crud.

The 335i was about £44k list after all the options I had on it which, from memory was....

Leather
Pro nav
Auto box
Aluminium trim and anthracite headlining
Logic-7
19's
CD changer
Sun Protection
Heated seats
M-Sport steering wheel (as an accessory)
Full aerodynamic package (inc. the shit rear spoiler!)

I remember getting it for £40k on the dot...not a bad discount for what was a newish car at the time - 8% I think.

A 335i with his and hers matching bikes

And they still have reflectors on the fronts

The M3 looks very cool though.

The bikes were brand new and got nicked off the roof of the car...the very next day! It was outside my ex-girlfriends house in Rochdale and they were locked to the roof bars - they just cut the locks!

The M3?? Have you never seen my pics of that?

Why do you cream over these rims? They look stock as hell IMO. Agree they're better than mine but come on M sport ones are 10x better mate.

Am I the only one in here that thinks this?

You are...erm...WRONG.

IMHO of course

These wheels are the best wheels on the e92...the rears have such a lovely dish to them that you just don't see on the M-Sport ones.

So much more going on there. Look far less "stock" based on purely a rim look.

This has spacers on so of course it doesn't look 'stock'. They all look good; there is no right or wrong answer (unless you prefer the M-Sport ones!!); it's just personal preference. Relax!!

Even without spacers they look less "stock" than 230s. Never seen your M3 before. Needless to say it looked quality. And them rims also had a lot going for them. Them on an M3 are WIN. I'm relaxed, just know 230s ain't the BEST.

I think 225M look far more stock than 230's.

They just look like all previous (e46) M sport rims. Multispoke bmw rims.

The 230's look more aftermarket than 225's.

I know that 230's are the best.
