E90 330XI Staggerred wheel fitment question

Hello all

I currently have 07 335XI

I have searched and searched for an answer to be 100% sure that if I would be absolutely fine with running staggerred fitment on XI's. But haven't an answer which would give me a peace of mind and not worry about destroying my car.

Some say XI's should always run square set up with and some say staggered is ok. Which is the right answer?

Thanks in advance!

In Europe the 330xd comes stock with staggered tires and I have no problems- it's great!

Search this has been discussed.

The answer: Yes, it's fine.

Keeping the rolling diameter difference between 1-4 RPM's max.

So go to tire rack find ur tires, find the RPM's each and determine if they fall within 1-4rpm difference.

like everyone said the xi comes factory staggered with 8F and 8.5R and 225F/255R I believe (might be sport package specific).

also - I have been told that it's not the rev per mile that matter - it's the rolling diameter (overall diameter) that matters for the xi. i.e., keep the dia diff 0.2" or less.

Go to tirerack - pick your sizes - then look at the specs for the diameter diff.

I am getting 245F/275R for my 19x8.5F/19x9.5R and I have an XI as well.

Good luck!

I like to keep the difference at least than 1% from stock for a AWD system. BTW, is it possible the adjust the exact tire size in the computer ??? For exemple M3 are running bigger tires...

First post done !!!

There is always the chance that if there is an issue with your TC it could be related to the staggered wheels on the Xi...

you 100% can run a staggered set up. i am in a e90 335 xdrive and i run a 235/40 in the front and a 265/35 in the rear, no issues. when winter comes around a square set up is ideal

"Detection of different tyre rolling circumferences
If the tyre rolling circumferences are not the same the drive train twists due to different rotary speeds (when the multi-plate clutch is closed).ne
Differences in rotational speed can occur as a result of the following influences:
- When tyres of different makes and types are fitted:
The tyre rolling circumference may fluctuate by up to 1 % due to tyres of different makes and types being fitted or the tyres are worn very differently"

stay within the 1% and you'll be perfectly fine

I would check to see what the rolling diameters are for your specific tires. Manufacturers vary their sizes quite a bit.

Relative to staggered set up on a 335xi - Staggered is OK. Dinan says with their stage 2 suspension that the car handles better with a square set up.
