just saw that my desktop has an extra VGA but i am not 100% sure that is a VGA output or not, it has a logo that looks like this l[]l and about the same size as the pc monitor cable output.

That's the cable I used when we renovated my living room. My LCD is wall mounted above the fireplace, so it was a must. monoprice was great.

I went DVI from my HTPC to HDMI in my Samsung LNS4695d.
