maybe I evaluated the time to get to the W.I. a little bit too much...
No no you are correct as going through the border might take some time !

I gotta say though that what really impressed me about the car is the interior quality and the gadgets...

After driving AWD ( Quattro ) for past few months , i don't think i'll ever go back to anything else. I am now convinced that we need AWD in Montreal. IT just makes a world of a difference.
I was at my Girlfriend's sister chalet in Harrington which is where we had out Drive at the beggining of November and i did that whole road all the way up to Tremblant with my car during New Years weekend. There was snow everywhere on the roads and i was so impressed by my car that it was shocking how well this car handles in the snow. I would have never dared taking these roads with my M.
Bottom line is M for summer and Quattro for Winter . If you can only afford 1 i would have to say an AWD car.
ahhaa... i actually felt the opposite... i never owned an audi of course but i had an xi before and it was very stable in the corners in icy conditions but i was just driving my m3 over the weekend to laval and west island to visit friends. there were snow/ice on some of the smaller roads, everytime i turned a corner and gave it a little too much gas, the back will step out just a little before DTC kicked in. it's so fun!! the xi was just too safe... i could never get the car to drift (unless i sped up above legal speeds of course) - it would just understeer all day long.

i love how i can still have some driving excitement in winter at legal speeds. you anticipate the small drift, put some countersteer on it and catch it then control the car back into a straight line.

the only downside to RWD is that i have gotten stuck in snow before even with winter tires. when the roads are unploughed and i am trying to get out of my parking spot on the side of the street, i sometimes have difficulty getting out and the car will just spin its tires all day long.

you should decide on this soon. so you have ample time to get it shipped here, etc.you dont want to have your car stored any longer than it should. if the weather starts getting better in march, you should take it out by then.

I don't know ... in what sense... vreds are better or worse? I just think the threadwear should be deficient with the vred.
I like the tires I have Re050 Pole Positions...

i think your current tires are more sticky than vreds. well i dont know for sure but it seems like your tires are marketed in the same league as PS2/Pzero, etc... vreds seem to be marketed as a balance between wear, performance, handling in the rain, etc.

i just get this feeling that your tires would be stickier.

yea, the f1 show was stupid. the trailer with the car was there but i guess they decided to cancel last minute.

just buy another set of 18" PS2s from another member on the forum and call it a day. if you decide to get 19s, you can always get that midway through the summer.

Tirerack will end up being cheaper given the near parity of our currency.

Never considered just slapping on snow tires on the MCoupe?

One word. Wow!!
I personally think Jaguar is really stepping up their game and the new XJ is no exception...
Now in terms of technology and interior it's by far the sickest interior i have ever seen.
If no one has seen the interior and the Digital tach please youtube it. It's impressive.
BMW's booth left a lot to be desired. Nothing special at all there. Was very surprised...
It is a very pretty car. I've heard lots of decent things about it. But as everyone mentioned, it has been quite lack luster on the reliable side. Now that it is firmly in the hands of TATA I'll relagate the tought as out of bounds.

I agree 100%. Its a little wasted in the summer, but that can be made up pretty easily on HARD cornering and HPDE. The XDrive is pretty smooth and I'm sure Quattro is just a nice.

So will Habs make it to the playoffs? Are they giving up on Price yet?

Can't wait to be glued to the TV watching the olympics.

it's gonna be tough. there's a lot tight competition. Islanders are really hot, Flyers are on their way back up. They'll have a tough time if they play the way they did last weekend. As for our goalies, I think I would pull the plug on Price. Yes, he's still young and could turn his play around. But what if he doesn't? he still has some decent value, so I'd try to deal him. Halak is playing excellent anyway. Eitherway, I think one of our goalie will be dealt come trade deadline. Would be great having Kovalchuk in a Habs uniform!

To respond to all these subjects... hmmm

as far as the thread being busy.. no change from last time.

I also miss my M... I'm happy I have winters on so that I can take it out from time to time... (when it's dry out)

Harley sold... good man. more money for track... hahaha.

BTW, b-fast meets are planned to start from 8 to 11 am... they end whenever ... so at 10, you should have passed by... we were still there yapping away.

It's January 19th... time flies... 2.5 more months to go before the track weather is back...
