2006 330i xenon headlight replacement
I have a 2006 330i with 'stock' xenon adaptive headlights. I am trying to find cheap(ish) aftermarket replacements, but I can't seem to find anything that will work if your car CAME with xenon/adaptive lights. Does anyone know if you can go from xenon/adaptive to xenon/non-adaptive or halogen/non-adaptive? I am aware that a little re-wiring will be inevitable, but I am not a mechanic/electrician and therefore do not know much about all that. However I am very willing to learn provided there are good, comprehendible instructions.
I REALLY want these::: http://www.carid.com/2006-bmw-3-seri...ts-315304.html but i think these would be more practical because they are xenon::: http://www.xtralights.com/06-08bmw3s...itpackage.aspx THANKS-A-MILLION for your help! |

My lights seem to be crapping out on me now. About 2 months ago, the drivers side angel eye light went out. A couple weeks later, the passenger side angel eye light went out. Almost a week after that, I noticed condensation in the passenger side headlight which soon resulted in the xenon headlight going out. Now there is condensation in the drivers side headlight, but the headlight is not out yet. Also the adaptive headlight failure warning is up on the dash. With all this happening, I am inclined to think that its not just a problem with a bulb or two. These are the lights that came with the car, and I have no warranty. According to multiple websites, to get replacement BMW xenon/adaptive headlights would cost around $1,000 per unit or more.

perhaps they were improperly sealed after replacing the AE bulbs? (assuming you replaced them)

I havent messed with the lights at all. no bulb replacement.
I just want to get new ones so i don't have to worry about these any more. So does anyone know of any replacement headlight units that can be used in a car that came with xenon/adaptive headlights that don't cost $1,000s? |

nope. not without modification and coding. people don't generally downgrade their headlights.

Someone has offered me their headlights from a 2008 335i. Since that is a coupe, I'm not sure of the compatibility (mine is a 2006 330i). Does anyone know if they will fit it properly.
He said that it comes with OEM ballasts, adaptive modules and all OEM bulbs. |
