**WARNING** HARD Motorsport LEICHTBAU E90 Widebody Kit- Updated 5/2018

***MAY 30TH 2018 UPDATE***
I started this thread over a year and a half ago and in good conscious can’t leave it out there without including need to know details. Since the OP, I purchased and installed the Hard kit for my E90 335 racecar. Long story short: this kit is a joke. It absolutely 100% does not fit the amount of tire they claim, the panels fit like trash, and the rear over-fenders sit waaaaay lower than they should to avoid requiring a rear door fender piece- leading to rubbing issues. I really hoped the kit would work as advertised as I spent lots of hard earned $$$$ doing so. Even after Hard acknowledged that they misrepresented their claims on the website; they refused to provide a full refund. That said, unless you are going for the -45* camber stance life look, avoid this kit. And if you need an actual functional/Motorsports/racing widebody; you would be FAR better served with a WTCC kit or pay for a custom sheet metal widebody.

For those curious, here is what the Hard kit looked like on my 335 with a verified 305 tire pushed against the inner strut (remember, they advertise that their kit can fit a 315 square). You be the judge but to me this looks more like mexi poke than a legit Motorsports widebody.

For comparison, I got rid of the Hard kit and sourced a WTCC kit. These are pics of a 315 tire fitted under my WTCC kit (which the Hard kit is a knock off of). Even with a full blown WTCC kit, a 315 is pushing it... in reality, a 305 would be the max front tire you would want to run with a WTCC (while retaining proper suspension geometry).

Top down shot (finger sitting below front fender and on the tire to give better idea of poke)

Another comparison...

WTCC Rear at FULL compression (note: still room, no rub)

HARD rear at static ride height (notice center cap in relation to side skirt line compared to previous WTCC pic and how close the Hard kit is to rubbing)

Again, I hate the bad mouth any vendor who is seemingly trying to push this platform forward. But products being intentionally misrepresented by these same vendors need to be brought to light. I hope this helps clarify.

ORIGINAL POST...

Just discovered these guys and this widebody kit is unreal. $1,199 + shipping, install, paint, etc. But supposedly you can run a square 315 setup with this kit (hello fellow big turbo N54 owners). Anyone have or thinking about getting this kit? I think I would strongly consider this kit if I committed to turning my car into a full on track car (bc it would look ridiculous on a DD, right???).

It's the first widebody kit for this car that I think looks thought out and is tasteful for the E90 (looking at you LW and bolt on fender flares!). Anyways, just curious on your guy's thoughts??

I'll post over here so more people see it too, got my kit about a week ago;

Mocking up the fronts; the bumper piece is dead on. Tabs slide under the headlight housing and fitment on the pre-lci bumper is perfect

Only issue I see so far is the mtech lip I have will need to be removed; the bottom of the front bumper piece covers up the edge a lot.

You don't see an issue with the fact that the leading edge of the fender extension around the wheel well where it meets the front extension is at least 1/4" off from being flush as in pics 3 & 4?

If you look in pic #2 of soursamo's it doesn't look like that piece is pushed all the way in for the mock up.

Yeah that's just a quick test fit, I'll post more shots this week as pieces get mounted.

Quick update;
Bumper piece is now attached, very slight trimming on the top inner bumper edge to help it lay flat, but the bend from top of bumper to front of bumper is not as sharp so it is slightly bowed.
Bothers me none

Tucking up by the top of the headlight is on point

And looks like if you cut off the end of the mtech lip after the fog light it can still be used, I will try that but still have my APR splitter to go along the bottom anyways.

I know I said I was going to finish the front but I've decided to focus on finishing one side first.
So tonight, rears!

Ignore this years livery stuff, and the horribly small winter wheels I have on.
All in all a good fit.
Route 16 does bring up a good point; there is no extension piece for the rear bumper, the bottom of the rear flare sits in the body line between the bumper and the rear quarter.
I have a spare rear bumper I might cut up to try and fill that gap but we shall see.
Hoping tomorrow to have the front fender on, then move onto the passenger side!

I spoke with Hard Motorsports; sounds like they did extend the rear bumper at the mount to meet the flare. I will see what there is for options this weekend.

Drivers side complete!

Couple issues;
- Getting the fender to properly hook around the front bumper piece is tough; had to drill out a few of the bumper rivets and reposition it to get the fender to line up correctly
- The front of the M3 side skirt is an issue with the bottom of the fender; the bubble in the skirt means the fender cover won't lay flat

That's what I was curious about. Looks like the rear should fit since there is no bulge in the side skirt.

Are you planning to keep the riveted look or will you fill and sand to look smooth?

Overall how would you rate the difficulty of install from 1 being plug and play to 10 requiring lots of customization to fit?
