compared to my old flares it's a 9/10 on the easy scale. I have done very minor trimming to get the fitment I'm happy with. It really does depend on how mechanically inclined you are; remember that my fenders are all pre cut and welded from the old flares. That, especially the rear, takes a lot of time. |

Another day, another piece done. Rear is now complete;
Fits slightly lower due to the cutout but not noticable. I may order an OEM M3 rear bumper and see how that fits instead of flaring out my stock bumper. This week I will finish the fronts and get some complete car pics. |

Loving the updates. Thanks for sharing. So they recommended that you push out the stock bumper to meet with the 1/4 panel flares? How is the bumper supposed to stayed flared?

Interesting. Might be an option for my e91 depending on how much work it takes to pull the rear bumper to match the quarter panel flare. Link to pics of your car with the previous flares installed?

Getting them to fit with the curves of the fenders and such is tough, they are under way more tension than the Hard Motorsports kit. I ended up not using the bolt holes the flares come with, cut them off and filled them. Used rivnuts on the fenders and new screws to get them mounted. That was after I cut all the fenders and welded up the rears. The other issue with running the 70mm fronts and the 100mm rears is required wheel size and offset to make it look good. I ended up running 18x11 -29 in the front, which means lots of work to get the inner fender metal to not rub. In the rears 18x13 - 39 requires a ton of metal to be cut out and I actually had to trim back the rear bumper. Couple that with the squishy rear end in the E90 and you rub a lot. I switched to super stiff 28K rear 326 power springs to make the rear end super stiff to avoid rubbing, meaning I needed to re-valve the rear shocks too. Oh and you have to trim the flare if you want the rear doors to still function lol It took a ton of work, a lot of money in wheels for a fun season. I did love the crazy look and how wide the rear was but it took a lot of time and energy to make it complete. Mine are for sale for pretty cheap if anyone is interested, just need to get a rivnut insert tool and be brave enough! Last edited by soursamo; 11-07-2016 at 04:24 PM.. Reason: changes |

No, E91 bumpers are not the same, sadly.

It's cold and dark in Canuckistan but it's done:
Passenger side fender line-up went way smoother now that I knew some tricks. Next up is to bring the front down a bit, cut up my mtech lip to fit and get the APR splitter back on. Oh and probably watch for snow |

And proper sized wheels are a MUST. Perhaps some HRE RS100's?

Soursamo: DUDE!!! Please find out if the OEM e90 rear bumper would be a clean fit using the rear flares.
I love the OEM e90 m3 rear bumper!!! The replica m3 rear bumpers for the e90 looks like shit and it looks too sharp for the car not matching it's lines. If you can fit the OEM e90 m3 rear bumper, it would be a game changer!!! It looks like it'll fit because the OEM m3 rear just flares out at the sides as well. |
