Please help with DTM Headlight converting to HID headlight

Hello guys, so recently I changed my headlights to Rolling gears DTM headlights and I wanted to put HID, but I’m new to car modding and parts. I tried to research about Converting to hid but there isn’t any information andout the headlight I have. So if anyone knows anything about this headlight and what I should do please give me ideas and your knowledge. Thank you

I just used a standard H7 HID kit. No issues.

I just took it to a shop that was recommended to me. Told them it's H7 and I wanted 6000k... he did the rest.

I'm sure it's not much more difficult to do than swapping out a standard bulb, except it can be tight back there.

As for the kit itself, no clue. Maybe rely on online reviews? Maybe other threads here discuss reliable brands?

Good luck man!

I thought the RollingGears used halogen projectors, Does using an HID in a halogen project blind oncoming traffic?

No, still has a cut off (though it's a weird shape).

It's not a halogen reflector, which would blind oncoming traffic.

Kits are $30 - 300

Find one you think seems trustworthy and install it... if you have projectors (looks like a shiny lit up "ball", can't see bulb inside) you're good.... reflectors (look like pieces of mirror behind a visible bulb)? Then you need projectors

The rolling gear lights use projectors for low beam and reflectors for high beam.

See image attached, pardon the poor quality.

Ignore the high beams, theyre more of a gimmick with HID anyway

I wouldn't say that. High beams reach further down the road since there is no cut off.

Good for longer visibility in very dark areas.

Agree not much need for them driving in a city though.

Yeah, you need to code your car to disable the voltage check. LED uses much lower voltage than standard bulbs, so when the new bulbs don't draw enough power, the car thinks something is wrong.

Also, I recommend cutting your dust caps so they fit around the new bulbs, but still limit dust, debris, and moisture collection inside the projector.

Sorry, no clue. I ended up getting HIDs installed (just paid someone to do it, it was a reasonable cost and I couldn't be bothered, lol).

You're welcome! I learned a TON by reading numerous posts here, and also getting support from other members... so I feel it's only fair for me to support where possible.

The only rule I suggest is that you read as much as you can before asking questions. Often times people ask the same Q over and over, and our knowledgeable members get tired of answering over and over again, and then become less responsive. I'm not saying you're doing that, just that it's my #1 rule before posting.

Good luck with everything!
