Hello,
I found a E92 coral red interior sports seat set for a very good price, however it is for a RHD car. This thread is very usefull and found others which did the same. On page 16 someone said that only a LHD control panel should be sourced and the wire harness be swapped over. The current passanger seat (which will be the driver seat) has a cable which I think is the ocupation sensor, does anyone have pictures where this sensor leads. Do I need to remove the whole seat cover for example. The set was advertised as Electric with memory but without heating, if the above needs to be done then maybe I will also retrofit heating at the same time. |

Fantastic thread - gratitude to all who've built it up.
I'm putting heated powered sport seats into a 2006 325i that came originally with manual heated seats. 2 questions: 1) I need to run KCAN to my driver's seat; are the KCAN wires green and green/orange everywhere? (I need to go hunting for the closet place to tap - no idrive wondering if KCAN may be in wires near my subwoofer... or I may try footwell module.) 2) for passenger side, I tapped into my one existing power and ground wire pair in the seat harness, effectively powering both heat module and bolsters from one source. I know this was discussed early in the thread, but can't quite discern the answer... is this arrangement safe / legit, or am I courting disaster relying on one power/ground for the entire seat? |

hello, tried everything with retrofitting from non heated seats (08/2007 e90) to 2006 heated sport seats, plugged in positive wires from x11006 pin 1 and 2, to pin 4, pin 34-38 to pwm pin 1, x11001 pin together to pin 5, and pin 8 grounding to front - under the hood, option added to FA $494 and FA_write to jbbl cappl and ihka, green led stays on but none of seats is actually heating... what can be the problem... thanks for any reply in advance, this toppic helped me a lot. i will answer and post pictures to any question

Retrofitting E90 Seats into a Hot Rod or other car without a computer (KCAN).
Just wanted to add to this great discussion. I have been reading this for over a year while I build a 1968 Mustang Fastback. I have a set of 2008 M3 seats in dark red that matches the cars Shelby strips. Obviously, the car does not have a KCAN signal or feed to keep the Driver's seat activated. I have been searching for a solution for quite a while and I think I found one... I started with a 5v source @ 1-2 amps to trigger the KCAN feeds into the seat. 1st test included simply touching the wire to the feeds in the seat...result: seat worked for about 30secs to 1 min. By disconnecting and reconnecting, I was able to get another 30secs to 1 min. 2nd test, I found a common LED power source for retrofit automotive tail lights. It dropped the 12v feed to 5v - LEDs dont need full power. So by using an early mustang retrofit module where the LEDs sequenced to turn on each individual light bulb as the turn signal is activated, (the new mustangs, this feature is built in) I created a pulsing 5v signal. Low and behold, I found / created a signal that the seat saw as a KCAN Signal. Result... the seat worked continuously while the ignition was active. All the other functions work when wired as others here have described. For the Heated Seat function, I found a 10min timed relay. When a 12v signal was applied (via momentary switch), it would trigger the relay sending power to the heating element for 10mins then disconnect. If you wanted more time, hit the momentary trigger switch and the cycle started again. FYI... these relays come in many different times, 1 min, 2mins, 5mins... etc. Just wanted to share my 2 solutions... |

Hi guys,
I would like to swap my manual heated seats to sports. I have found ones on car wrecker. They are electric, heated without lumbar function.., but have one big issue: they don't have seat module. On realoem I have found that the seat modul has no 61359196936, am I right? But I cant find it from e90.. Most of moduls are from e60/e61 or from X5. Is it possible to use seat modul from 5er? Will it works? Thx a lot for your advise! |

2. For the sedan and touring this is ok, but keep in mind that seat power can be disabled when car is low on power. Thats why there are separate wires for common adjustment and lumbar and separate for heating function

Great, that is what I thought. For e90 modules from e60/61 are not compatible. So I have to look for X1, x5, x6 and z4 (and 3er e90). Thx a lot for your time |

Hello boys. That's an old post however I want to ask for some info. I'm going to install full adjustment electric sport seats (seats have all options inc heat) into my e90. The car has stock basic seats (non electric) with heat. You know there are many VO codes for seats. So, which VO code or multiple codes should I add to cas unit to work those ones? I think to code them also for seat memory. Thanks for help.
