Hello to all.

Car Bmw e81 2009.

The car had leather manual heated seats from the factory.

I installed electric seats with memory function.
I connected the wires + CAN wires.
Electrical functions work, but Memory buttons do not work, I programmed in Ncs expert $459 in CAS and FRM, but Memory still does not work.

What is very strange is that when $459 is coded into the FRM block, the window opening buttons on the driver's side no longer work.

Could the problem be that the seat modules still need to be programmed?

Hi.

Finally Memory function work, as in forum somebody write that you need code $459 into CAS (correct) and FRM/Nfrm (wrong) modules, when i code $459 into FRM module i lost my window button function in door.

Then i check one more time moules what i have when i add $459 into CAS and yes there are 2 new modules BFS and FAS, thats what you need to code in ncs expert SG-codieren and execute job and FINALLY your memory function work, thats the correct coding now.

Heat Seater Connection

[QUOTE=orest544;30012460]Hi guys!
Can anyone tell me if this seat is heated?

Appears not to be the case. The blue connector running down the center to the back base would have the black connector splitting off, which would be your seat heater connection for the pad in the base.

Question on driver side rear side base riser

I have a driver side seat pulled out and have used the wave signal generator to bypass the can bus:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07FBZLD3W...roduct_details

I am planning to patch in a power reducer to reduce the 12v input to 6v output that will feed the signal generator:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07HCW46BH...roduct_details

Using this 120v - 12v 10Amp supply:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08SM7X4NW...roduct_details

My issue at the moment is that I cannot activate the motor that pivots the rear base of seat up and down and I am unsure why, or even how to trigger the motion from the controls.

Any insight out there?

Update - located control - lift working - how to check/test heated seats

Confirmed that the lift is working, just wasn't pulling up on the control switch properly.

Question - what signals the seat heater on? Unsure how to test/bypass.

This thread has been very usefull to me but I have a few questions.

My E90-2010 LCI had ONLY lumbar support and nothing else electric.

I purchased M3 fullly loaded seats and also the LCI climate control panel for heated seats.

I was succesfull in installing the seats, got all to motors to work in both seats. I had to install 25A fuse, Installed Ground to pin 8 & 13, steady plus to 7 and 4.

Installed D-Kan wires to pin 2 & 3.

Installed a 2.7 Ohm resistor to the active headrest connector. No air-bag light turned on. The M3 seats did NOT have active headrest even though they are from an LCI.

I would like the heating to work also. What wires are missing?
Do I need wire to pin 9?
Do I need wire to pin 1?
The seats has seat module 6 926 435 01 installed.

As far as I understand I dont need wires in 9 and 1 but only need to code it. Is that right?

What codes do I have to add?

Airbag wiring issue - Pins order seem different then my original seats!

Hi guys awesome thread thank you very much.

I got 2 electric seats and when i swapped them i found that they were actually E92 seats and i added them to my E90. Everything is working perfect positions, lumbar etc. I grounded two brown wires and had to connect KCAN H and L to get the position working. Added red and black wire to the 30A fuse.

Issue i am having is that as E92 seats dont have a torx screw to hold the seat belt now i need a retro fit to maybe drill the seat belt holder to either the side panel of the car or to the floor. Any ideas if someone has done this?

One more question i am getting seat belt and airbag warning just silent one. If the seat belt is not plugged it beeps but as soon as i plug it in the sounds goes away but the light is there.

For airbag switch i can see that the wiring order is different on the connector can i just swap wiring so yellow is first and brown last so i dont have to swap out the airbags from my original seats?

The lights also came on i think because the yellow plug was unplugged and i started the car to check the seats working?

New owner here. Firstly, what a fantastic thread this is. I've read it top to bottom in an effort to understand what I'm getting into and think I mostly understand it but I have some questions.

Car is 2006 E91. Currently no power or heat to front seats. I've sourced some seats that have heat, power, bolsters, lumbar and memory on the driver side.

I understand that I'm going to need to run power and ground from the fuse box to both sides. And I'll need to tap into the k-can on the driver side, and possibly passenger side.

A few things I'm less clear on.

Power to the passenger side seat heater. Do I need to bring another supply again from the fuse box for this?

I'll install a heated seat switch panel but it sounds like I might need to code the heated seats too. Is that the case and how difficult for a noob to do that? And what kit will I need?

I understand I'm likely to also have to code for memory on key to be active?

I assume this level of coding cannot be done using carista?

Thx AoshichanX for your FAQ, but I think thats a little bit too risky for me (or isnt it??). I will let it do someone whos expert in coding. You are not planning to travel to Germany within the next few days ?
Hi Guys. Need some clarification. Mine is E90 LCI standard seat fully electric. Swapped a E90 LCI Sports seat fully electric with additional side bolster.

Obviously the side bolster is not working. Am i correct that i should bridge Pin 4 to Pin7 [12v] as well as Pin 8 to Pin 13 [Ground] on the seat wiring harness? Thats all needed ? Anyone did the same can you please confirm?

Hi
I have just read all the thread.

I am looking to change pre lci heated manual seats to lci partly manual heated sport seats, and what i understood that i only need to give them 12v and ground so i think you should do the same.

If all things go as planned i will do it tomorrow.

Let me know what did you tried and if it worked or not 😁

A very helpful topic. I hope you can help me with a problem
I have an e87 with cloth seats, heating and electric side cushions
I recently switched to electric seats, with memories and heating, but they are from ENGLAND!
I mounted them theoretically plug and play, I connected the kan to the current passenger, the electric works on both, the memories work but the heating does not want to work. The heating buttons are on but nothing, below I attach a picture of the driver's plug and the seat

How can I make the heating work? thank you

Just to add: 06 330i sport seats power heated no lumbar swapped into 09 e91 power heater car no lumbar.

Pass seat worked, plug and play, drivers side everything but bolsters. I had no pin 7 or pin 9 on car side. Jumped both reds together and both browns together seat side and bolsters worked. With out grounds jumped no bolster.

Ive got a question about removing hardware from seats.

Ive got an E92 M3 LCI with full electric seats + memory + heated.

Im going to buy a donor seat so that I can strip out most of the parts in order to keep the powerslider (forward and reverse only) + heating + memory.

This is because I want to use these to fit a bucket seat on the powerslider.

My question is would the memory and heating still work of all the other parts are disconnected?

This allowed me to program the relay to turn on for 3 sec and turn off for 3 sec. I found that at 5 sec, then 4 sec intervals didn't re-activate the seat module. 3 sec seems to work continuously. It also gave me a higher amp rating which is where LED relay was failing.

Keep in mind this relay module is for 12v options and the seat only likes 5v. So, after the relay, I reduced the voltage to 5v by using a common Buck regulator set for 12v to 5v. There are many options out there... This is the one I picked.

https://www.amazon.com/DROK-Electric...758521&sr=8-17

Now the seat works continuously without any issues. Hope this helps.
Can you post what products you used? The amazon links are dead, interested to see what timed relay module you used.

Just wanted to add to this great discussion. I have been reading this for over a year while I build a 1968 Mustang Fastback. I have a set of 2008 M3 seats in dark red that matches the cars Shelby strips.

Obviously, the car does not have a KCAN signal or feed to keep the Driver's seat activated. I have been searching for a solution for quite a while and I think I found one...

I started with a 5v source @ 1-2 amps to trigger the KCAN feeds into the seat.

1st test included simply touching the wire to the feeds in the seat...result: seat worked for about 30secs to 1 min. By disconnecting and reconnecting, I was able to get another 30secs to 1 min.

2nd test, I found a common LED power source for retrofit automotive tail lights. It dropped the 12v feed to 5v - LEDs dont need full power. So by using an early mustang retrofit module where the LEDs sequenced to turn on each individual light bulb as the turn signal is activated, (the new mustangs, this feature is built in) I created a pulsing 5v signal. Low and behold, I found / created a signal that the seat saw as a KCAN Signal.

Result... the seat worked continuously while the ignition was active. All the other functions work when wired as others here have described.

What is the LED power source for retrofit automotive tail lights that you are referring to, is it something like these?

Sequential LED retrofit kit?

I have E90 seats from a 2011(Power,Heated, W/ Memory). I can't get any movement from the drivers seat.

I have 12V+ to pin 4 (large red) and 12V- to Pin 8 and 13 (large brown). The seat won't move even for a second. Lumbar works though.

I have also tried 5V+ to Can_H and 5V- to Can_L. Still no movement.

Anyone know how to get the drivers module to wake up? All the other modules I've seen are black, mine is white. Is this related to the later model year or related to memory seats? Anyone successfully been able to bench test the memory seats without being installed in a car?
