FS: 2010 E92 325i - What's a fair price?

Hi guys, after almost 2 years, I am selling my 2010 325 E92 and am wondering what you experts think I should ask/accept as bottom line for the price.

I am the original owner and the car was purchased from BMW HK (registered 4/2010). The car is white with black/brushed silver interior and is in nearly brand new condition. Around 9000km. Automatic transmission. No accidents, door dings or scratches. Looks and runs perfect.

Modifications include:

- 18" M6 style rims with Dunlop Direzza Z1 Star Spec tires. Car & Driver rated these tires first in a tire test (see: http://www.caranddriver.com/comparis...r-spec-page-11)

- Completely stealth upgraded audio with Vibe Litebox Amp, 8" Earthquake subs, and Helix component speakers in the doors.

- M-tech front lip, painted to match original.

BTW, if you have any interest (or have a friend with interest), send me a PM and we can arrange a viewing of the car. I live in Kennedy Town and drive the car to work in Central.

I believe the VRD of your car is HKD429,000.

Modifications normally don't count on reselling. Some buyers might admire your modifications and offer a high price, but it depends on luck.

One of my fds just sold his 10 E92 325i at 300K. But his mileage is 14k km and no modifications.

I would recommend you remove the upgrades and sell it off individually if you want to recoup some costs...

New model is coming out and BMWHK keeps selling new cars at special price.

You could get a higher price from private deals, but I guess not far off.

Nowadays buyers do take reference to the VRD value and count the depreciation before making offers.

Thanks, yes I've looked at 28car, but always difficult to tell at what price the cars finally sell at. The comments below the ads are not helpful b/c it usually people throwing out lowball offers.

Apologies for the ignorance, but what is "VRD"? I'm guessing it has something to do with the current year pricing?

Thanks for the idea. It's difficult to pull things off as: 1) I sold the original rims/tires, 2) threw away the original audio pieces (wouldn't be worth the pain of trying to reinstall/rewire anyway), and 3) the front lip is detachable, but seems pretty risky to try and pull it off (in case there's been some color change underneath.

So Scflaw, I don't think I'll be able to sell you the front lip.

VRD stands for Vehicle Registration Document. The VRD shows the price that you paid for the car (sum up the two amounts on the right).

Not all the time, but mostly, especially there is no previous owner.

The best way to check is ask for the trade in price with the car sales and add 20% on top! I would also think 300k is the price you looking at (mods always don't count and it's always personal)). If you going to put the car up on 28 for sell, make sure u also posts your tel#. Serious buyer only make call.

Well, I just sold this car. Sad to do it as it was problem-free and nearly new condition but I had to get a 4-door car. Sold with under 12K km for $350K. Pretty good price but I did put a good amount of money into the stereo, rims and chip. Buyer is happy and I'm happy so good deal I guess!

Well, what really happened is that another buyer called me the day I was going to show the car to the first person that called about the car. The second caller urgently wanted to see the car but I told them I was already showing it at lunch and if they wanted to see it later in afternoon then ok. 5 min later I get a whatsapp from second caller saying they really want to buy my car so how's about this--they won't negotiate on the price and as long as their mechanic says it look ok, they'll buy it. I ignored this message for a little while as I was just about the show the car to first caller. During the showing when the buyer asked about possible reduction on my $350K asking price I said "you can make me an offer and I'll consider it but first I'm going to go show the car to this other buyer who sent me this whatsapp message" (and then I showed it to him) . So he understood that an offer lower than my asking would likely mean the car would be purchased by someone else. After his mechanic gave thumps up we took a short test drive and before the drive was over we had agreed on a sale.

Today I picked up a 2009 Mercedes CLS350. 0 Hands, 33K km, AMG exterior and new 19" rims. My first driving impressions are that the steering is much lighter than the BMW and the suspension quite a bit softer. Acceleration feel is different. The engine is about a litre larger in displacement so I can feel the power there (272 hp) but acceleration is more subtle than my 325, particularly after I put in the BMW Powerbox chip. The CLS is about 12 inches longer and almost 4 inches wider so it feels a lot bigger. I'm getting a reverse camera system put in this weekend to help with the parking. Interior is more luxurious looking--and given that the car went for over $800K brand new, it better look nice! Paid $455K (to a Wanchai Automall dealer) + another $3K to have it inspected at Zung Fu.

Given this is a BMW forum, folks may be disappointed in my jumping brands but its a car I've always admired and given my requirement of getting something with 4 doors, its seemed the right time to go for it. Sharing a pic for those who are curious.

Looking at pictures of the old car along with the new, I guess I must really like white cars with 5 spoke rims
