On that diagram there are 2 vacuum sources; throttle body adapter and rear inlet, for low and high sides.

That's great! To me that would be the optimal catch can setup. Same like what I have on my built 4G63! I Like this!

Should go great with the Single N55 turbo kit you guys plan on coming out with. I'm hoping this year! I'm just waiting patiently.

If you remove vacuum from the engine why do you still need a catch can with the breather? Or can I use it without a catch can. N55. I know n55 catch cans aren't huge like N54 but I do know n55 has a ton of vacuum. Learned that when my pcv went bad and seals started howling. So I'm trying to prevent that again.

You can set it up however you'd like. The system is modular -really depends on your goals.

Does this crankcase breather filter serve the same purpose as an oil catch can?

No. The crankcase breather is to reduce crank case pressure. It depends slightly on setup, but a catch can takes what is being let out through the PCV system, and separates the oil from the air/vapors before sending back to the intake (or venting). They're often both used as part of a complete system.

Does the crankcase breather effectively accomplish the same thing as plugging the head ports?
