Tell me, where do you store your iPhone 6 plus
My 4s, case and all, fit perfectly in the little cubby behind my shifter (non-iDrive), but that is not the case for my significantly larger 6 plus.
Sure, it's fine if I stand the phone up in that cubby or if I lay it diagonally so the bottom is mostly in the cubby but the top is mostly not, but any sudden take off or braking and I'm searching under the passenger seat for the phone. I've heard good things about CD mounts, but wanted to pick your brains and find out what all the iPhone 6 Plus owners are doing to store their phones while driving. I know you fools aren't keeping them in your pocket. So let's hear/see it...what is your setup and how are you liking it?

In your purse or back pocket (I heard they conform to the shape of your ass to make them more comfortable to sit on).
J/K, I am an iPhone fan boy. I put my 5S in the cubby below the radio, though when I had a 2007 335i, it was an ash tray.

I have an iBolt vent mounted dock that I like. It's sold on Amazon. I don't really like the idea of a CD mount as it seems like it would put too much pressure on the CD player.
I don't have a 6 plus, but I know the dock works with the galaxy note, so it should work with a 6 plus. It is more expensive than most vent mount docks, but the quality definitely feels better and it is easier to use. You may have to buy the vent mount connector and the actual dock separately as I think it comes with a suction cup.

I put my 6 plus in the cubby below the radio and it fits just fine. The cubby is big enough that I can even lay the phone down in it and still have room for other things. But I also have a really thin case on it.

Truth be told the 6 plus is a pain in the ass just about anywhere- holding in one hand, in your pocket, in the center console- you name it.
Oh and there's no way in hell they're making a snap-in adapter for this beast. If it wasn't for the fact that it looks so damn good playing games on it I would probably sell it and get a 6. For those of us without nav I bet you this would make one hell of a navigation screen too- it dwarfs my mothers Garmin nuvi 1300. I still have my 5S, and when I pick it up to hold it after messing with my 6+ for a week it feels like a box of tic-tacs in my hand ha ha |

Don't have one yet. But probably on the floor. Have weather mats so it won't slide for the most part.

I have the Satechi CD mount for my Glxy S4, but I believe it goes big enough to accommodate the 6+. Holds the phone fine and the location is good, but it's bouncy...even if the road isn't that rough. Not sure if all CD mounts do this, or just mine. It's annoying.

This…..
It comes off in seconds, but stays where it is when removing the phone, rotates, and even fits in your pocket when you leave. A brilliant yet simple bit of engineering. Works perfectly with a case on also and doesn't look unsightly like every other dock out there |

Yeah I've got an 07 so there's a plastic shroud. If anything it just slides left and right when I corner hard. Quick launches doesn't seem to bother it so

I my KIA Borrego, I used on of these mounts with my Google Nexus 5. Now on the BMW, I use the ledge under the NAV or the front ashtray hole thingie. My point being that the Kenu Airframe is a great mount and works really well.

FWIW, I have a 6 but the setup I have is ideal and could work with the Plus. Would just have to offset it a little more to the passenger side.
I use these 2 pieces of anti slip rubber. They're meant for anything from a cell phone to sunglasses. They're tacky, can be washed and continue to stick. The phone goes nowhere. You can order them from eBay. It comes in one strip. I cut it in half and then in half again to fit that section you see. Highly recc. |
