BMS E9x slip-on exhaust tips

Guess this would be considered an exhaust modification. Wondering what they'd look like from different angles and can't find any other pics for the E9x. There are plenty for the F30, but they're a different size.

Did your car enroll in band camp? I don't like it, looks like the end of a trumpet

Not my car. That's the only angle I can find and I'm not so sure about it, hence wanting to see others.

BMW fanatic has a video on YouTube showing some different angles. I'd just buy the tips of your choice and have them welded on. It would look better IMO although it may cost a bit more

Dang I even subscribe to him and never saw that, thanks! I didn't like the black in the pics, but those do look good. Makes the the thick "wall" look not so noticeable.

I love most of BMS products, but that's pushing the easy mod too far.

those are gross.

aftermarket exhaust tips are more cosmetic then an actual exhaust mod.

looks like you better like it as it is going to leave big gouges in the finish of the OEM ones when you remove.

Why not just get these? They're cheaper and look better.

The black ones don't look bad. Probably will look similar to the IS tips.

The black ones in the video look a lot better than the polished one in that pic.
Maybe it was just a bad camera angle

Yeah it's not so bad. The fish eye lens isn't helping though. Don't worry, I'm not ordering them.

I love the sound of the oem "is" exhaust with catless downpipes so I got some to spice things up. Don't look bad in person hopefully the pics do it justice.

Go with CYBA tips and get them welded on. I've never been a fan of those thick walled tips. Just gross looking.. lol.

I chose to go with black chrome on my car instead of chrome or brushed aluminum.

EDIT: Just noticed this is a year old thread. Oh well. Leaving the post up for those still searching.

Thanks! I'm one of those still searching lol!

Question about the CYBA tips, you weld them over or you have to cut parts of your exhaust tips? Really wanted BMS simple slip on but yeah the burnt one don't look THAT great. My IS black tips are kinda off and I can't polish them since they are paitned.

Oem tips have to be cut off and welded, so choose a good muffler shop that cares to make things even. You can tack weld them on and they'll stay, but I'm OCD so I chose to have it fully welded which required pulling the exhaust off the hangers, but my guy made sure to even things out when putting it back on. You could end up with a real crooked tip if they're careless.

IS tips look dull to me and the black chrome looks so good when it's clean. Just get them already!

Ps.- spray some high heat black paint into the tips either before or after. It'll look so much better. (See lift pic vs street pic)

Bringing this thread from the dead again.

Anyone has recommendation for "slip-on" exhaust tips that don't look as bad as the BMS ones?

I really don't want to cut off my exhaust tips.

Maybe these from BMS? They aren't the slip on ones but I noticed a while ago that they also offer these nowadays too.

I personally think the BMS ones stick out far too much. I cut the old ones off and used eBay 3.5" carbon fibre exhaust tips and clamped them on.....no welding required. Look spot on......but wish id went for the 4" now lol.
