I had the older 4.4 version and the now have the one pictured installed, recently installed the 4.4 version in my neighbours car which is identical to mine, however, I can't get the radio stations to save.
P.S i never used the radio when it was installed in my car, so never worried about it. There doesn't seem to be a memory wire on the older loom, |

Unfortunately I have no idea if it will fit the harness at the back. How do I find out whether i have a logic 7, and whether it has 8 speaker wires? these are cautions from the manufacturer that say it won't fit or work in certain cars... |

Logic 7 is the only system with a speaker in the center of the dash... if you see a speaker grill there, vs. just plastic trim, you have Logic 7.
HiFi audio can be identified by looking for tweeters on the front doors (near the wing mirrors), and lack of Logic 7 center speaker. Base audio is identified by a lack of tweeters on the front doors. Hope that helps.

Nope. Everything that is needed came in the box. The connect2 kit is only needed for generic aftermarket stereos e.g. Pioneer, Kenwood etc. whereas this one is specific for the E90 so the harness is plug and play.

Hi,
I have a 2006 E90 pre lci, aux but no usb or Idrive. I have basic speaker system. Does anyone know if this system will require me keep the original head unit also installed to prevent any problems with possible updates/servicing? I’m not too bothered about the DAB but would like all the other features this offers but heard lots of problems with cheaper units causing problems. |

Thanks, I’ve just read on few sites that for updates you might to need to install head unit. Not sure what updates people were referring too, but just wanted to make sure there are no issues with removing the original head unit.

If you're truly worried, you can relocate the factory HU to glovebox or trunk, but I wouldn't even bother. I replaced the HU on my 2007 5-6 years ago and haven't had any issues or need for updates.

I’m still looking at replacing my head unit but the main function I’m looking at is the ability to connect my iPhone so I can use it to play my music from iTunes. Also have a note 9 so would be great if I could connect this too. I want to be able to connect, happy to do this via usb and then select and play the music via the head unit. And I’d like to do this cheap as possible, my car has aux but no usb so that’s why I’m thinking it will involve a new head unit.

If you have a pro radio or older idrive. You can play muse files from usb or sd slot don't know if you can go that route with a phone but it has a2dp, Also the link first displayed is a switch from the original box. Towards the end to the thread I posted the link that has both the sd and usb ports. |
