Warranty info!!

Hello everyone, brand new BMW owner here, so this is my story i bought a 08 e90 335i with around 65k miles on it, i love the car & i have had a lot of fun with it.. anyways it had the HPFP issue & the locking system was bad too i could only open the car with the actual key.

So i took the car to the dealer & i was aware of the warranty on the HPFP because i been reading all about it so i wasn't worry but went i got there they said my car was cover with all maintenance & that they would fix my doors too. but i don't see how can that be possible & idk how i got this lucky because i been reading & is only cover for 4 years & like 50k miles & the car was build on 02/08 so idk how the warranty work with an used car.

The dealer where i bought it from only gave me a warranty for 1000 miles & 1 month (i put 1000 miles in like 3 days, i couldn't stop driving it i loved it)

You have the option of purchasing an extension for the factory warranty and maintenance plan when your warranty runs out. As far as I know, these are fully transferrable, so it looks like the previous owner of your car purchased this. Lucky you! I'm sure someone who has purchased this will chime in with more details about coverage.

CPO would have a deductible though. Some extended warranties don't have one. OP are you the second owner? Did you buy the car from a BMW dealership?

it is fully transferable but it has to be done in the first 30 days you bought the car and you cant buy it from a dealer. only if you buy it from a person. i bought mine used and they couldnt transfer the extended warranty

Thank you for the replies & no i didn't buy the car form a BMW dealer i got it from a Ford dealer, the guy said that they don't usually get cars like this that they actually just worry about selling trucks & that they wanted to get the rid of the car.

it only had 1 previous owner. i would think is a CPO warranty then because i do have to pay $50 for everything.

The funny thing is that everyone around me told me not to buy the car because i have actually discuss with them about the issues some of the 335i have but i honestly didn't care about that i know that BMW build great machines that last for a long time. i guess karma is true!! & btw the car cost me $18844 w/o taxes & down payment.

Looks like you got a pretty good deal, OP. CPO is a major selling factor with these cars, and usually comes at a premium from the dealership--your dealer likely had no idea it was a CPO.

Enjoy the car!
