Hi Guys,

Please advise, I’m after sourcing a few servicing parts at the minute and need a new air filter, are there any replacement air panel filters , pipercross , k&n etc that I would hear an increase in induction noise from ?, or not . after reading a few previous threads I believe the stock one is good !, but I would upgrade if anyone on here has already done this and gets more noise when accelerating . Thanks

stick to paper oem,,does whatbit says "filters" foam etc are better for flow but no gains..also let particles through which can damage a turbo fans..etc etc i know yours aint got one,,but just saying

Cheers mate , appriciate the info, I’d heard of not really any gains as such just curious from people that had fitted etc, will stick to OE one, cheers man

I drilled a few holes on the unfiltered underside of my airbox on an E46 330i I used to have years ago.


It worked though, sounded great but looked stock. If you can get a cheap airbox off eBay try it. No harm done if you don't like it.
