CD playback resumes from beginning of song??

When starting the car, the CD player always starts playing from the beginning of the current song. Is that normal? My service adviser tells me it is. Also, heated seat and automatic wiper settings are forgotten on restart as well.

I have a problem with my car where the radio switches from Sirius mode to FM when it's started. I am trying to find out if the other memory settings function correctly or not. Thx.

You are for sure having a problem.
Sirius radio should play on station u turned car off, when u restart it.
Heated seats: setting I leave it when I turn car off, same when I start it.
Auto Wipers u do have to reset it when you start car again. Fog lights to.

No. It should start where you last left off.

It shouldn't restart to the beginning. Mine doesn't do that.

Thanks for everyone's feedback. I am still confused about heated seats. One person said it's normal for the setting to be lost, another said it's not.

Also, the settings in my car are preserved when the car is restarted immediately (or within a few minutes). It's only when it sits for an hour or more that the CD player goes to the beginning of the song and heated seats are turned off. My service advisor tells me this is normal behavior.

Thanks again for everyone's help.

So, what's the verdict on heated seats? Are the settings ever lost for anyone else?

Yep, if you turn off in the middle of a CD track, when you start again it plays from the beginning of that track.

The heated seats will be in the last known position if you left the car for less than 15-16 minutes (not quite sure about the timeframe, but something around that). If you leave for longer, the heated seats will be in the off-postion.
Quite clever actually. If you´ve just gone to pump some gas, the heats will still be on when you´re back.
If you´ve left it overnight (and the sun has come back out again and it´s warm and cosy andway), the seats will be back to "off"

The auto wipers are allways off when you turn the ignition off and on again, no matter how long. There simply are conditions when the wipers might freeze to the windshield (think Alaska) even within a few minutes if the screen is moist. That´s why user interaction is allways needed to turn the wipers back on.
