which fluids are yellow

it finally snowed in montreal..i had to move my car to plow the driveway. So i let it warm up for a few minutes and reversed out. After i parked it in the street, i notice a long trail of some yellow fluid. it wasnt pouring out, but it was a clear trail of a few drops, leading all the way to where my car was parked. I grabbed some off the ground and sniffeed it and didnt notice any smell. If it was gas i imagine i coulda smelled something, even though it was mixed with snow...i did see a few drops of what looked like the exact same fluid just sitting on the engine cover..no other visible leaking anywhere in the engine bay.

Any ideas what it could be? if it was oil wouldnt it be pretty dark?

Transmission fluid or brake fluid. Oil will be a light brown to a dark black.

Garage List
Urine.

In all seriousness, typical culprits are brake fluid or antifreeze.

Anti freeze on our cars is blue and will dry up a blue/green color. I doubt the snow would make it turn yellow. Any how, its most likely your brake fluid.

i did arrive home drunk last night and may or may not have peed under the car...seriously tho, i hope its brake fluid. but now that you guys told me its most likely brake or tranny fluid, a search revealed that theres a good chance it's the "mechatronics sealing sleeve" that needs replacing, so ill also need a new oil pan and top off some tranny fluid. ah well, well see..ill bring it to my mechanic monday. But at least this gave me a good idea. Thanks guys.

What does the oil pan have to do with the transmission?
