At just under $600 it should have at least made a peep when I got hit. 67 in a 45. Northbound on central 75 service road north of lookout and south of renner. A well known cop hangout. Nothing on waze, no peep from Escort Passport Max HD (did i mention at just under $600), no problem.... WRONG. I saw him immediately. Didn't see anything point at me. He said it was while I was passing a car which was up the road a bit. He came out of office complex so don't know how he got me.

I haven't got a ticket in YEARS. what should I do? Who should I call??

First, that sucks. I know that stretch well and the cops camp there regularly. (I live right off Spring Valley)

Secondly, what the hell were you doing driving 70 on the access road?? Don't be that guy.

Third, going that fast I doubt he needed a radar to see you were breaking the law.

It should say on the ticket how he determined your speed . .he cant just saw you were going that speed without proof.

If he indeed shot you w/ laser, doesn't matter what radar/laser detector you have or if it went off. You know you were speeding I'm sure. Going that much over the speed limit, you're surely gonna stick out a bit, especially in a bimmer :P. Tough luck man, take DD instead.

V1 Veteran here. Been there, Done that. Your only over by 22 MPH so ask for deferred. Leave DD for next time since its a 6 hour class but will give you discount on your insurance. Pick the lesser of 2 evils. Like others said no matter which radar when my V1 beeps for laser I just start making my way over and ready to accept citation.

It's picked up laser before. In Arlington on 30 it signaled laser right after six flags and i came over the hill to see a girl cop sitting there. She apparently hit a car in front of me and it set off my detector. I didn't know what the sound was at first since I had never come across a laser before..

Not even a beep this time. Just the cop and a ticket. I suspect he was working with another cop cause he was down the road from where he said I was clocked.

Regarding 67. All the other cars were doing 55+ so it wasn't that egregious!

Does the ticket show how you were clocked? If your detector didn't make a sound I hope the cop doesn't have gun/laser marked because then your detector is broken or he is lying.

Just says "stationary". Thus the rub. Passed a cop on renner today sitting in median watching the cars come the other direction. Nothing out of it. He could easily have had everything off. I have gotten KA a bunch today but my faith is rocked.

I would fight ticket. If he has an exact speed but no "visual estimation" check or radar checked it's a BS ticket.
