Dann's E90 335i *Final Update*
I joined up on here a few weeks ago and though I'd show you guys the E90 that I have bought.
I previously had a 1998 E36 328i sport in Techno violet which was in a very good condition and had a lot of money spent on it including upgrades such as Bilstein B8 shocks and Eibach pro springs, M3 3.15 LSD, K&N gen2 air filter kit, M3 backbox, BBS split rims and fully polybushed suspension/running gear. Couple of pictures of the 328i: However it was old, the ride was hard and noisy and my OH never liked it. I had also got used to the power (the noise was incredible though) and had my heart set on getting an E91 LCI 335i. AFter only seeing a few manual 335is in E91 LCI form I lowered my expectation to an E90 LCI. I had planned on waiting till May but an offer came up for my E36 and I found a 335i that had an incredible spec. I couldn't turn down the offer for the E36 and I couldn't let such a fully loaded E90 go. So I sold the E36 and bought the E90. I have no plans for the E90 except new number plate holders, black grills and a splitter, maybe a gearknob and update the sat nav to 2014 maps. I might eventually get some different wheels but nothing major or performance wise. The E90 had a list price of about £50k when new and has a great service history behind it. It's had 2 HPFPs on BMW warranty and 2 new turbo actuators, however the waste rattle is still there (minor annoyance but I'll get it done on BMW warranty). The car is Individual Azurite Black with Individual Syrah Blue Merino Leather interior and has things like active cruise, adaptive xenon headlights, Professional Nav, Individual Sound system, Individual sunshade glazing (tinted windows), Fully electric towbar, front and rear PDC, high beam assist, all the rear windows have sunshades (rear window is electric sunshade), fully electric seats with full lumbar support, Individual Piano Black trim, Sunroof, Extended luggage storage, climate comfort windscreen and brake energy regeneration. Although the main bonus for me was the fold down rear seats. It needs a bloody good clean and polish as it's been sitting for a few months getting washed with a broom and covered in seagull shit. Since buying it I've done the "Golf Tee" mo, updated maps the to 2014 and bought new number plate holders. So here you go. The only pictures I have are from the advert: Last edited by Dann; 02-11-2019 at 02:38 AM.. |

Great spec, loving that interior too. Always liked azurite black. If you are keeping the wheels you could maybe refurb them ferric grey like the newer sport plus models.

At the moment it isn't very azurite black as it's so scratched and terrible but I have a machine polisher so will be getting it back to perfect in summer.
As for the wheels, I'd love MV4s or CSL reps but can't justify spending that sort of money on it yet. My E36 wheels were grey and looked amazing so I'd probably do them the same colour. When I saw the advert, I didn't like the interior but it's definitely grown on me. The leather is just so soft. |

Saw this car for sale, great spec, and I'm sure your love!!
The wastegate rattle is abit worrying, especially if the BMW dealers have tried to sort it already. Maybe take it to a dealer that's done this kind work before?? And don't let them fob you off with the excuse of 'they are like that', mines done 60k and coming up to 7 years old, original turbos....No hint of any rattle, so make sure they sort it out before the warranty runs out ....So make sure they fit some new turbos on yours!! I need to organise the warranty asap but was going to leave it a couple of months before I take it in for them to look at it. (I'll be getting BMW warranty as the mileage is at 55k) It only rattles when the engine is really hot. Last edited by Dann; 03-12-2015 at 07:41 AM.. |

Looks nice.
As long as you have the BMW warranty, they'll have no trouble replacing the turbos for the rattle. I've had mine replaced a couple of times, it's now perfect and going strong 12 months later. |

I've sat in that..... actually I coded the power folding mirrors as that's one of the only options it didn't come with!
This is one of the best looking / spec'd E90s I've seen! If it was newer, I would have bought it! Plus, that interior was just a joy to be in...... congrats on the motor! |

There is only a couple more that it didn't come with. Off the top of my head it doesn't have comfort access, DAB and something else. |

Congrats, it's a lovely looking car.
Nothing like someone ticking every option box and you lucking out when you buy 2nd hand. Happened to me with my E92. Seriously, who the hell ticks the "high beam assist" options box for £250!

Love the "I've got no plans for the car except....." We've all been there and all said it! I said exactly the same when I bought my E91 in January this year -"I'm going to keep it stock except for a few minor things" and before I knew it the mods just kept on coming! ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ðŸ‘

It's the sensor for the active cruise control (Set a speed and distance from the car in front and it will stay at that distance. If distance decreases the car will slow down/brake to maintain the gap)

That is an amazing spec car!
Really awesome! Would love to own one like that. Congrats! Think you did alright not getting E91 :P The spec on this beast more than makes up for it. |

I wonder how well this technology works if the car in front does an emergency stop. Would love to see a video of this in action

Congrats on a superbly specced motor. Look forward to the mods too and i'm sure there will be more than just that small list lol.
Active cruise control is excellent. Had it on the RRS but it's quite daunting the first time thinking whether it will in fact slow the car down.

There really aren't many E91 manual 335's. I'm tempted to give up already!! |

Small update already.
Bought some new Plate holders and fitted them earlier also gave it a polish and wax Brake fluid was done at my local BMW garage and they have informed me that my rear tyres are on 2 and 3mm. So looks like I need new rear tyres too.....great. That's the second car I bought that needs tyres straight away Last edited by Dann; 03-14-2015 at 03:12 AM.. |

Nice car Dann and nice spec, from the pics it doesn't look like it needs a paint correction. |

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
The paint looks okay when the days are dull but when it's sunny the car goes almost grey because the swirl marks are so bad. There are loads of big patches of scrathes where Bird poo has been scrubbed off. I'll be sorting all the stone chips out too. I'm a bit ocd when it comes to cleaning. When I do the brake return I'll be cleaning all the suspension, inner arches and insides of the wheels too. |

Update ish.
Bought some new angel eye bulbs from a guy on here and fitted them: Took all the Piano Black interior trim at the weekend and polished it: Also bought some proper black kidney grills for a bargain price of £10 which will be fitted soon (friday) Need to sort the headlight washers as I have lost about 5L of Screenwash in about 3 weeks.
