Jeff - congrats on the new ride! Those Koreans really know how to build a quality car - my ex-neighbor in Round Rock got a similar Hyundai sedan and hasn't had any issues with it at all. Sounds like you and I both needed those 4 doors!

DIS is the diagnostic software that BMW used to use. v57 will work up to a 2009 vehicle.

You might check with Rhine West - they have all the BMW computer gear. I also know a guy in Austin who can do the coding as well.

Well rhine quoted me four whole dollars more than the dealer for the coding. I ended up at the dealer just bc there was also a recall for the battery cable.

I recently drove up to Kerrville from over here in Boerne - went to Cal-Bob's smokehouse, which is on Highway 16 about a mile north of I-10. Absolutely great BBQ, friendly atmosphere (guy who runs it is a Vietnam Vet), and although it's small, he's open to having larger groups come through. Plenty of nearby parking. I was researching lunch places for our BMW CCA October event, and this place is definitely worth the trip.

Was wondering if we should maybe try and get together over at The Rim sometime - several good restaurants there with plenty of parking for show-and-tell. Maybe we could do it on a Friday evening after it cools down some?

Best thing you can do is get a realtor or use an apartment locator, and you should be able to find one of those online. Housing is reasonable here, but like most cities, the prices go down as you move outward from the downtown area. I live out in the Boerne area NW of downtown, and it's less traffic, better home prices, etc. All depends on what part of town you want to live in. SA is a great city, though, and living in the suburbs is probably the best option.

Car-wise, BMW of San Antonio has been great to me in the year that I've been here, and Rhine West would be my recommended indy shop - very nice folks and very competent, with a fully-equipped shop including BMW computer diagnosis equipment.

I'd look at Monster.com and some of the other online jobsites, and you should probably set yourself up on LinkedIn.com as well. There are outfits in town like TekSystems that might be able to place you in a contract job while you continue to look for permanent work, along with several similar agencies.
