After Market Navigation...

I am looking for a brand/store that can do a full customized navigation, I won't mind having to cup open my dash and sit the Navi in, nor replacing my head unit but if replacing my head unit, I want it the new head unit to have Bluetooth capability thats works with the car mic/speaker and also all controls on my steering wheel to still work as well...

Anyone?

I am driving a 335i sedan 2007

head unit replacement is complicated by the fact that on our cars, the radio is on a computer buss. "Standard" head units won't work.

Yeah... I know... But come on... the car has been in the market for 3 years already... No one could come up with something?

Alpine Electronics from Japan. I don't know the specifics for BMW's aftermarket process but if I had to pick a brand, that would be my sole consideration.

You will have a hard time finding someone to do a proper install. You'll have to find someone intimately familiar with modern BMWs and it will be very expensive.

Me, I'd find a company to integrate a nice Garmin (available with BT) into the sunglass holder/ashtray. You'll get a better nav (unless you cheap out) and won't have electrical issues down the road.

I know Alpine is good stuff... but the problem is I want it to retrofit really good with my either dash or head unit, I hate to lose my Logic7 for it though... oh well...

I love Garmins too... I am using a 255W right now, but I just hate the fact that I have to take the GPS off each time I drive to some bad neighborhood... And I do that a lot, my jobs requires me to drive to all types of neighborhood and I just want everything to be build in so that I don't have to mount/dismount each time...

I am not trying to get the stock Navi... the stock Navi for my 07 would be idrive... I know idrive sucks... i was driving a loaner with an idriver last week and it was telling me to make u-turns and left turns when i was driving 70 mph on freeway...

Thats why I want something that is after market, and that have all the steering wheel control capability along with the navi and bluetooth...

Do you own it? Or do you know anyone who owns it???

I really want some feedback before I jump up and down...

I don't mind spending money... But I just want to know how compatible would this unit be with my steering wheel, and also since I have logic7... would i lose it with the head unit?

I'm bumping this because I am also interested if there are any good options. I saw a good option for the E46 but nothing mentioned for the E9X...
